Steve, if I drink any kind of carbonated drink, I pour it in a cup over ice to get rid of the bubbles. If I don't, I get the unfortunate results you mentioned.
Yes Shirley.. I can do that to get rid of the gs, however it has been almost 8 months since I had a carbonated drink and I don't miss it at all.. Life can easily go on without having extra gas in my stomach.. Fruit juice like apple juice or cranberry juice is much more appreciated.. I also like just plain cold water.. As far as farting goes, I will always have to get rid of the gas somehow and if I can't burp, the only other exit is out the tusch by a fart.. So be it !!!
I bought some fermented cabbage to try which I love anyway.. It seems to agree with me and I don't have any more gas than I would have anyway.. The only thing is I find it very salty.. I bought the sour kraut in a wine sauce.. I also bought some broccoli that I will steam and try it over the week-end.. Hopefully it too will agree with me.. I now am starting to increase my food items.. Next, if the broccoli agrees, will be cauliflower..
We went to Walmart today and I bought a BBQ chicken.. It has been several months since I went to Walmart and bought a chicken.. We enjoyed it.. We each have 2 meals from that dead bird.. steamed veggies to go with it.. Stewed peaches with heavy cream for dessert..
I tried having one of those ... Ensure ... supplement drinks to try to help me get some extra needed nutrition and vitamins in me.. I was told by my doctor after the operation NOT to take any of those supplements for a while as they contain some stuff in them that my stomach lining can't take.. I thought after 7 months it would be OK........ BOY WAS I EVER WRONG..!!! It burned my stomach lining that it felt like I just drank fire... The burning lasted for a few hours and then went away, but the doctor was right, not to take any of those supplements.. No more.. I will just continue on eating healthy like I am doing and maintain my weight like it is.......
Supper tonight will be chicken thighs bone in but the skin and fat removed and I will BBQ them after a light breading of spices and herbs... Steamed broccoli, carrots, and potatoes.. Stewed peaches with heavy cream.. Pot of tea...
It was too windy to BBQ, so I ended up putting the thighs in a loaf pan with some honey/garlic sauce and baked them...
Supper tonight was a meatloaf made with minced chicken.. I added sliced mushrooms ans diced onions to the meat as well as herbs and spices.. A good dash of ketchup as well.. It was good as usual with my meatloaf.. Good wholesome food.. Steamed carrots, parsnips, mashed with butter and I added some peas.... That was the veggie..
Supper tonight was a huge success.. B/S chicken breast cut in half thickness, breaded using flower, cornmeal, breadcrumbs, cornstarch, herbs and spices.. I pan fried them in honey/garlic sauce.. Corn and steamed and mashed carrots was the veggie.. Pot of tea..................
Hamburgers on the BBQ.. It was cold but not windy.. it was -23c.. Not that bad... My homemade chicken patties, frozen and on the grill frozen.. A mixture of different veggies all steamed together, mashed with lots of butter..
I made a homemade vegetable soup yesterday in the slow cooker.. Diced onions, can of diced tomatoes, vegetable stock, carrots, parsnips, green beans, peas, and some barley.. herbs and spices.. It came out extra delicious with lots to freeze for another time......
a very easy supper tonight... Turkey sausages cooked on the stove.. Steamed carrots and peas with butter.. S/F jello with heavy cream.. Pot of tea
Supper tonight was my homemade chicken burgers on the BBQ... Yes, I know it is bitterly cold out, but still I BBQ'd... It was about -40c out when I used the BBQ..
tonight I made fish........... Fillets of sole breaded and pan fried Mashed carrots and potatoes with butter and chives.. Stewed peaches with heavy cream Pot of tea..............
We went to Sudbury and we went to Walmart where I bought a BBQ chicken.. That bird will feed us for 2 meals which one was last night and the other is tonight.. I like the dark meat while Annmarie likes the breast which is perfect for us... Steamed veggies goes well with BBQ chicken...
