Fish tonight.. A freshly picked salad from our garden with my own dressing.. A banana with heavy cream..
We went to Sudbury today and ended up at Walmart.. I got a BBQ chicken and a Caesar salad kit.. That chicken will be for 2 days..
today was sausages on the BBQ.. I bought some store-made bangers and they are super huge.. One sausage is plenty for a meal.. Steamed veggies.. Ice tea..
chicken drums dry marinated and on the BBQ.. A fresh salad with some of the veggies from our garden.. Strawberry jello with fresh strawberries and heavy cream..
It was a hot day today up here.. It went up to 30c and sunny.. Supper was my homemade frozen chicken burgers on the BBQ.. No indoor cooking...
I tried a new recipe for supper tonight.. it was one of the biggest flops I ever cooked.. I threw out the left overs.. It was a casserole in the slow cooker using sliced potatoes, minced chicken, onions, cheese, and a can of mushroom soup... NO GOOD !!!
I added all kinds of herbs and spices, but we still didn't enjoy it.. I added some thyme while cooking the meat.. Garlic, pepper, and paprika to the cheese.. Still, it wasn't good.... So i made a bad one..............
A little white wine, perhaps? I made just steamed, fresh from the garden broccoli the other nite with melted cheese curds. Fresh broccoli with just butter and salt--Yummy!
First of all, I threw out the recipe... Next, there is absolutely NO wine in our house.. We are a NO Alcohol house..... Next, I will never make that concoction again...
I guess we all boob a new recipe sometimes... No big deal !!!...... That's what cooking is all about..
Chicken thighs skin and bone in on the BBQ... Steamed string beans fresh from the garden.. Red seedless grapes..
IMO any meats that are going to be cooked in a slow cooker needs to be browned / partly cooked on the stovetop first to have any flavour. With the exception of corned meats. I had tried stews / casseroled chicken / soups even a type of lasagne and they are all bland as. I made your instructions for fish cakes today Steve ,not for myself but for the dog I’m taking care of so super easy to make ..no messing about coking potatoes / mashing.extra calories I was wondering if I could use chicken mince ? instead of canned fish and get the same effect with the cakes holding together quite well as the fish dose. My hubby won’t eat canned fish but I will make some for myself one day ( I did sneak a taste of the ones I made for the dog ) they would be nice with lemon juice or even finely grated whole lemon added. I keep whole lemons in the freezer that grate nicely on a fine grater while still frozen
