Low Carb: What Are We Eating?

    We went to Sudbury yesterday and naturally we went to Walmart and I bought a BBQ chicken...
    I also bought a Caesar salad kit to go with it..
    For dessert, some of those seedless red grapes..

    The other half of that BBQ chicken that I bought yesterday reheated in the microwave..
    Steamed string beans, steamed and smashed carrots with butter..
    No dessert

    For tonight I will be making my Swiss steaks using minced chicken..
    Chicken burgers cooked in a sauce with onions.. I make this recipe quite often and we like it..
    Mashed potatoes goes well with that recipe to absorb the sauce..
    S/F vanilla pudding spiked with some frozen blueberries..
    Definitely a pot of tea..

    Supper was something I tried..
    B/S chicken thighs breaded and cooked on the stove in butter and oil.. I then added a bit of gravy sauce that I made to the pan and they cooked for a while till done.. They turned out so good that my wife asked for them cooked like that again next time I make B/S thighs..
    Steamed carrots and potatoes mashed with butter.. Steamed string beans as well..

    Chicken breast cut in thickness half and pan fried in herbs..
    Steamed string beans and carrots..
    Pot of tea...

    very simple meal but we enjoyed it..

    My chicken burgers on the BBQ..... No bun of course..
    Steamed broccoli with a buttery/garlic sauce.. sliced mushrooms with a Catalina sauce..
    S/F jello with heavy cream

    Tonight I made myself some veal liver.. I like liver very much providing it is done very rare.. Well done is dry..
    I made a big ton of fried onions to go with it.. Like those also..
    For me, this meal was a real treat..
    Now, for Annmarie, I made her a banger (sausage) and her steamed carrots .. Liver isn't her favourite..
    For dessert, I bought some of those seedless red grapes that are super sweet..
    Again, I like those grapes so much that I have trouble stopping eating them..

    Red wine always lowers my BG. I'm sure grapes have the same effect on BG.

    Absolutely NO alcohol in my stomach since my stomach operation last year..
    As far as those red seedless grapes goes, the season is coming to an end soon.. Meanwhile, I love them..

    Supper was ...... SOUP ....
    I made a soup in the slow cooker with all kinds of vegetables and I added a bit of small cubes of beef to the soup as well as some barley.. It was a real meal just having my homemade soup..
    I have soup left over to have again and also some to freeze..
    Don't laugh, but, red grapes for dessert..

    They are delicious frozen, kind of like a pop cycle. If you can find them now.

    Bangers (sausages) on the BBQ.. I bought some turkey bangers and they were absolutely delicious..
    Steamed cauliflower with parsley flakes.. Corn nibblets with butter..

    I made salmon patties yesterday with extra eggs and onions, pork and beans, water a couple sips of Sprite.

    Tonight I will be making my special Swiss Steaks using minced chicken.. Lots of gravy and onions to go with it.. There will be enough for 2 meals for us as one pound of minced chicken with the fillers will make 4 very large patties..
    To go with the gravy, mashed potatoes seems like a good idea..
    I have a frozen pie shell that I will bake and fill it up with sliced bananas and homemade custard made (with a hint of nutmeg) on top of the bananas.. I will serve it with fresh whipped cream and some sparkles for decoration..
    Pot of tea after all that will go perfectly..

    Cooking day for me today which i simply love to do...

    Those Swiss steaks were so good that we both pigged out.. I still have leftovers for another time..
