It took 24 hours for both of us to adjust but now we are buddies.

I was asking on your other thread...have you had lots of pets before Cranberry?

We always had cats & dogs (and birds and fish and hamsters and chameleons etc) when I was growing up, and I've had a dog and a cat as an adult. Both lived to be around 21 years old. Then I kinda unshackled myself from pet ownership.

This is my first cat. The only pets I have ever had in the past were Toy Poodles primarily for my wife and daughter.

Cranberry looks like a great companion Lon . It’s great you can have pets ,that’s a big issue in Australian aged care
so many places won’t allow pets and it’s a well known fact that pets can calm and relax anyone espically if they have Heath issues .

I was about to post a photo of my Daughters kitten that’s also black and white

It's nice to have a critter you don't have to let outside to go to the bathroom.

And, thinking, "if this window was open, I'd have bird for breakfast." :D

Glad she has a nice sunny window, @Lon Tanner

Is that big box thing her litter box? If so, please move her food and water dishes away from it. Cats (like people) don't like to eat near where they potty.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I always kept the litter box in the bathroom (easier to clean and away from the rest of the house), and the food in the kitchen.
Even if the cat didn’t mind everything bunched up like that, I wouldn’t be able to stand it being right in the middle of my living room. Cat, yes, litter box, no.

What looks like a box is a cover that gives privacy. She can enter or leave at the opening to one end of the cover.

My point was that her food and water are too close to the litter box. Would you want to eat next to your commode?
