My husband uses both regular razors and electric. He has a shower mirror and keeps a Gillette razor on the shelf in the shower. I think he mostly uses the electric for "touch up" and to trim his moustache.

When I first began shaving, I used a series of disposable razors, of the sort with three blades, five blades, and so on, and I used shaving cream. Then, for a time, I used an electric razor. I left it behind in a hotel or somewhere and since I had never really liked the sort of a shave that it gave, I went back to the disposables. Somewhere in there, I went through a period where I didn't shave at all, except for around the edges here and there, for as long as eight years in a row, a couple of times. As a paramedic, I worked for a couple of places where beards were frowned on, so I started shaving again. I used a safety razor and when I ran out of shaving cream one day, I learned that shaving cream added nothing of value to the experience. In fact, it seemed to allow the blade to slide over the beard without cutting it. So I quit using shaving cream and generally shave dry with a safety razor. I have an electric razor that I'll use sometimes but if I want a clean shave, I'll have to finish it off with the safety razor. I change blades about every two shaves, though. In my life, I doubt that I have cut myself shaving more than a dozen times. It's pretty easy not to do that.

With the foil it is inevitable that a bladed razor gives a closer shave. I use an electric but with the foil it seems pointless paying over a hundred pounds for a second class shave.

I use and electric razor. I cut too easily to use a blade.

My "beard" is so light in growth and color that I only shave on Sundays using my Panasonic electric shaver.

    I use an electric razor.

And have just used it to cut all the hair on my head off.

Tend to do it at least every year.

In fact did it two days ago.

    So call me Yul B

I would love to have a nice trim mustache like my dad wore for years or to have a nice looking proffesorial goatee, but it bothers me to be unshaven. Maybe I will try a stick on mustache.

I regularly grow and shave off my Goatee, but my wife will NEVER let me shave off my mustache...she says I look like an evil Nazi SS Officer without one!
