I was curious about the net worth of different stars and searched it out. Can you believe Robert Di Nero with 500 million? Many many stars with 100 million plus. Oprah & Spielberg are multi billionaires. I should have continued my acting career from a high school play.
These actors/actresses put a whole lot of time in on a set, away from family. Sometimes I think most of them are worth what they make/made and sometimes not.
Consider how much time a soldier spends away from his family, for a relatively small amount of money. I don't have a lot of sympathy for overpaid egos being "on set." Actors and professional athletes' compensation is way out of line to my way of thinking.
When Matt Lauer lost his job because of his "issues" I searched to see what it was gonna cost him. $26,000,000 per year for just one of the hosts on the Today Show. It's an obscene amount of money, but to me it's the same as anyone in entertainment or sports. If they are bringing that kind of revenue to the business, then they should get their share. That's part of life. Tolerating those things that offend us is the most crucial component of freedom that exists. The thing that makes their money so offensive is that they don't practice this basic tenet. If they kept their arrogant mouths shut regarding everyone else's behaviour, then their salaries would be less distasteful to defend.
Actually, I don't like how much HGTV shows/personalities, like Fixer Upper, Property Bros. and others on that network make. Jo and Chip (Fixer Upper) have already been talked about concerning the money they make and how their kids are being spoiled by it.
For heaven's sake I don't begrudge anyone what they are paid. As @Lon Tanner said "we're worth what someone is willing to pay us".
