Since the fire we're living in a trailer and room is always a concern about 6 weeks ago we purchased a kaloric air fryer toaster oven, which has a smaller footprint and seems to have the functions we need. This past week I returned it to BJ's for a few reasons, the outside case gets red hot my wife got burnt on it twice, the nomenclature for a few buttons has worn off, plus a few other negative reasons. Yesterday we got the NuWave Bravo XL, which is what we had in the house before the fire, so were familiar with using it. So far so good.
I read where you are supposed to grow your own and then dry and grind them WITH the shells for maximum benefit. All the fiber and nutrients. I was going to try to put them in the blender and then into my electric coffee grinder. Hubby needs fiber and nutrients. He can sprinkle them one his cereal and oatmeal. Maybe. Also supposed to be a good dewormer for the chickens.
That gives me an idea. Next time I'm in town I'll check out my Asian and Latino supermarkets. Those places are always cheap.
You and @Mary Stetler made me go look. Buyers are angry that the seller listed that as Product of Canada in the description, yet they are from China. I don't know how they can tell because the pic of the Nutrition Label also says "Product of Canada." Maybe it's changed. A couple of buyers stand by the quality.
Lots of things are labeled to hide a Chinese origin. It is in a number or something to keep it legal but it is confusing. We probably could not afford them if they were made here I have been buying talapia from Peru and Chile. They don't taste like dirt.
So many food products are labeled "Distributed By..." with no country of origin cited, especially the house brand stuff. Regarding tilapia: I don't eat it because it seems that it's something that just appeared on the food scene in my adult life as though it were recently "created" as a food item. I recall when it first came out and hit the menu on Outback. I asked the waitress what tilapia was, and she said "You don't want that. It eats $hit off the bottom of the lake." I sure appreciated her honesty. Besides, friends and I had aquariums when I was a kid. We all had cichlids (angelfish are cichlids.) I know what cichlids eat off the bottom of the aquarium...that waitress was telling the truth.
iPad 10th generation for hubby he’d only ever had hand me downs from me in the past so I thought I’d be generous and buy him a new ( just released Oct this year ) well that’s a sorta fib ….I transferred money to him from my savings and he bought it online himself…… but I paid for it https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/ipad-10-9-inch-wifi-64gb-10th-gen-blue-ipad10gen1
We decided to replace the slow cooker that we lost in the fire. I'm a big fan of the slow cooker I just like how it makes meat come out tender and juicy, even the tough pieces. The idea of setting it and letting it cook for 6 or 8 hours is also appealing to me. We have tried some recipes from online but I have been using I believe it's Campbell slow cooker packets or Crock-Pot packets to season the meal. If you have a favorite recipe for slow cooker I'm all ears,-----all right I'll take my elf ears off.
When I was working, I used my Crock Pot all the time. I'd prep the ingredients the night before then throw the stuff together before I'd head out to work. To me the best features are that it's really hard to overcook anything and it will stay at serving temp for hours while you make the sides (or for staggered diners.) Most recently I've used them for church gatherings & such. I probably have 4 of them, to include the original Rival I bought many decades ago.
We've had a few crock pots over the years of different sizes. About a year and a half ago the one we were using got to crack in the ceramic bowl. We replaced it with a better model and now we're replacing that one. We just opened the box to examine the Crock-Pot and found a 6-in crease / Bang left front, so we'll have to return it to Kohl, that will be tomorrow's task. I hope they have one in stock that's an exact match so just has to be replaced. They shipped it in the Box that the pot comes in no outter Packaging. I was looking forward to a Crock-Pot meal.
