I read "The Leisure Seeker" free, online on my laptop. Would much rather read in my comfy chair, but I don't want to buy a Kindle because I probably won't like it. I might enjoy one if I could read things that are free online, as I do on my laptop. I ordered some canvas prints and received them on Halloween. They turned out great.
My most recent online purchase was from Dick's Sporting Goods. A very good sale on twin size air mattresses so I got two. I use them for my granddaughters to sit, sleep/nap, and romp on. Regular 19.99 each on sale for 14.99 and free shipping.
And as for recent purchases... it's almost time for my Amazon Subscribe and Save delivery. The mailman will be giving me the side-eye this week. I also ordered a nightgown and a few other bits from Macy's "friends and family" sale which is going on this week.
I ordered a 3 dimensional Thanksgiving card for my parents. They are ridiculously priced, but my mom loves them, so I buy her one for every holiday. I also got art pens and shampoo. I was going to get air freshner, but Amazon's price for a simple Glad spray can was three times more than Walmart. I was quite surprised.
Had another good online shopping trip. Was with Walmart.ca, only took 6 days. Discovered on this purchase, they do not deliver to home address, just postal address, not sure, maybe a Canada thing, but the shipment came from Ontario, our province east of us. They also have weight restrictions, if your order weighs too much, just make it into more than one order, possibly place the next order after confirmation of shipping, always free delivery with minimum purchase.
I notice recently that all my Amazon purchases are coming in the Amazon delivery vans. This is kind of a big deal, since the UPS truck used to be up and down our street every day. All my orders used to come via UPS or USPS. I hope Amazon's not going to take over the entire world. (But maybe they could do a better job if they took over the federal govt....haha.)
Late last night we ordered several items from Amazon to ensure they arrived today because it's the only day I could be certain I'd be home. So 3 of the 4 items arrived around 3.30pm. it's 5.30pm now and I'm still waiting for the 4th ( flashing tape for the barn roof)... although the tracking says it should be here by 6pm..we'll see..
5 mins after I last posted, the box of tape arrived... . I don't know how they manage to keep such good time when it's dark and it's rush hour like it is now, and they must get so caught up in our horrendous traffic jams during rush hour on the motorways roads and , and the arterial roads are all covered in wet leaves making driving through the lanes a nightmare in the dark..(no lights on our lanes through the woods either)
I got 10 new cushion covers... 6 in lemon with various patterns in white, and 4 plain bottle green Velvet .. the velvet were quite expensive and from the UK, but the linen yellow weren't, so I was a bit worried about the quality as the latter were coming from China. Well I needn't have worried, if anything they're better than the velvet which were from a different supplier and cost more
From AMAZON, I bought a hand-held, Laser-Powered, Computerized, Distance-Measuring Device, which will show the distance to any flat-surfaced object to a distance of 320 feet, with an accuracy of 1/16 inch. It will also compute Areas and Volumes with great accuracy. You can stand inside any rectangular room and quickly get the floor area in sq. ft and the volume in cu. ft. Do I really need such a device? No...like many things I buy, I just wanted to have one! (I would include a Picture, but hateful Windows 10 will not allow me to attach one to a post.) Hal
