I'm with you and Marie; I drink mine too fast to need a warmer. I think I have asbestos in my mouth from "tasting" hot food on the stove for 40 years. On the other hand, I actually don't mind cool/cold coffee. I'll drink it anyhow!!
I got some cool new Staub utensils to go with my new pot!! These are silicone with wood handles. I also ordered a couple of stainless knobs for the cast iron lids just because I'm a sucker and they are cute. Here's the chicken knob; I'm still waiting on the pig to arrive.
You should check that one out, Krystal. You can put any size cup or mug on it, it turns on/off automatically when you set your mug on it/remove your mug, and if you walk away and leave your mug on it, it turns itself off after 4 hours. The light around each temp setting and the digital display are redundant. You see in the pic I posted that the 149°F is circled in red, and the display tells you that it's set on 149...the display does not indicate the temp of the drink. It's 25w, which is more powerful than many of the others.
I bought a little digital rice cooker( multicooker) that can function as a small crockpot and steamer as well. Sometimes I need a smallish crock pot. So this “ricer” looks like it might fit the bill on many levels. I make marina sauce, beans, rice, etc. to freeze in small batches. Sometimes it’s just easier to put things in a crockpot than let it simmer on the stove. Especially if I have to run errands. I don’t like to leave things simmering on the stove when I’m not home. Again...I'm worrier.
Funny story Remember I was waiting on the tv remote, well, I had to return it. For those who are not aware I am Johnny's caregiver. He had a stroke and was diagnosed with progressive dementia. So here's the story. I had purchased a Roku device for Johnny's tv but it doesn't have a volume button. I was engaged in a serious game of Krazy 8 with my granddaughters when all of a sudden I heard Johnny's tv blasting upstairs. Apparently he got hold of both remotes. I went upstairs and because this has happened many times before I convesgated the remote to the tv and put it away in my room. I didn't mind leaving the Roku remote. Later on that evening I grabbed the tv remote to turn the tv off because he was sleeping. I didn't work. Too tired I walked over and turned it off manually. The next day the remote still didn't work so I changed the batteries - twice - still nothing happened. Of course all kinds 'what could be wrong?' went through my head to the point that several days had passed so I ordered the replacement remote. It came and that remote didn't work either so I arranged to have it returned. While sitting at my computer doing a side-eyed look I had Johnny's remote setting there. My thoughts - 'I guess I can try to order another remote; Maybe I should just throw it away.' Then a revelation 'No, I didn't.' 'No, I didn't.' 'I bet I did.' Can you figure out what happened?
@Von Jones -- For the longest time I didn't realize that my old Roku remote had volume control. The up/down buttons are on the SIDE of the remote, not on the top where they should be. So have a look at the side of that remote. Also, I find that occasionally my Roku remote doesn't work and just like you, I have changed batteries to no avail. I finally learned I had to actually reboot the Roku device (unplug, wait 10 seconds, plug in) and let it reset to recognize the remote. This just happens randomly so I don't know what causes it.
My remote operates different devices: TV, DVD player, cable box, etc. Sometimes one of the other Device buttons gets pushes so my remote is no longer "speaking television."
You know, I never examined the ROKU. After the set-up I was done with it. Just give me the on/off and arrows up/down right/left.
