The Samsung TV that I watch while eating burned out this morning. So I ordered and just picked up at Bestbuy the replacement.
Ordered a bottom sheet for our bed, because the one we now have has a good size tear in it. And, the tear will get bigger with each washing. Also ordered an ez hooker boat hook to use with our electric boat winch strap hook. Both coming from Amazon.
Just ordered this: I've thought about getting one of these for a while. After using the dehydrator function in my new all-in-one convection oven, I can see I'll get lots of use out of it. And I don't want to burn out that expensive oven by running the dehydrator (convection) fan for 24 hours at a pop. It should arrive next week. I can't wait to do my first large batch of chocolate covered almonds, and to dry a batch of pasta.
Stuff must be flying off of the shelves of internet resellers. When I purchased that dehydrator, I first found it on Walmart's site for $20 cheaper than Amazon. This was just after midnight. I went back early the very next morning to place an order, and they had all been sold out. I was looking at sous vide machines last night on Amazon's site (another cooking item I have been thinking of getting for a very long time.) I decided to pull the trigger, just went on their site, and they are out of stock! Everyone else is $50 higher. Must have been some special deal. The site didn't really say. Damn. Serves me right for not being an impulse buyer.
I must have messed up, or Amazon got more back in stock. I went back this morning and there is inventory. Both times I followed the link from my Wish List. Oh, well. So I bought a sous vide machine. Then I got an email from Thermo Works offering a deal on open box insta-read thermometers they use on America's Test Kitchen. $30 off. Sheltering-in-place has shaken loose years of pent-up cooking supply desires. I gotta step away from the credit card and let it cool down. But I'll get lots of use from my recent purchases.
Just received some coffee and raw almonds I bought on Walmart.com. I buy whole bean 8 O'Clock in the store (cheaper that way) and premium whole bean coffees on line (cheaper that way.) This is my first order delivered by Lasership, one of those new delivery services started with Amazon's help. Usually USPS, UPS or FedEx delivers packages out this way. I bet a Walmart contract was a big deal for them to get.
Ordered a couple of Whirlpool whole house carbon filters from Home Depot: I installed a water softener several years ago and put in two filters: a regular sediment filter to catch the softballs (5 microns), and this one downstream of it to sweeten the water and catch the smaller stuff (1 micron.) Something happened with the relationship between Lowes and Whirlpool...A.O. Smith displaced them. Smith's carbon filters are 5 micron. The 1 micron ones (if they truly are 1 micron) filter out bad critters (although my well always tests clean.) Availability of these moves around a lot. I was buying them on Amazon, and now Amazon still carries the regular Whirlpool filters I use but not these. There are no Home Depots in my area so I had to buy online and pay freight. At least I can still get them. Bought enough to last me 2 years.
I bought a replacement filter basket for my Mr. Coffee a couple of months ago and got pinged by Amazon to write a review. I was asked to rate 2 characteristics: -Value for money -Sheerness Sheerness????? I gave it 3 stars for Sheerness. The aggregate Sheerness rating is 4.5 I guess other people found it to be more sheer than I did. I must be missing something.
A replacement kit for a satellite dish. The part is called an LNB (Low-Noise Block downconverter). I'm betting $30 plus shipping that's what's wrong with the TV. It's a gamble I'll probably lose.
Just received 2 of these: I had my driveway graveled last year and forgot to do this to it. Now I'm killing little green invaders. $5 cheaper each than Lowes. I have 2 of these coming tomorrow: Also ordered one of these for a second attempt at anchovy pizza: My Breville baskets finally hit UPS (I was afraid the labels were gonna yellow waiting for the product.) Should arrive next Wednesday. None of these are shipping via Lasership.
I just picked up some parts for my tractor's front end loader (kickstand), the pto tiller (kickstand) and my weedeater (saw blades.) I figured for safety's sake with those weedeater blades, I better get some proper gear, so I bought some shin guards and ordered these from Amazon: I'd like to get them sooner than Friday, but not $12 worth of like. I'll wait.
