The Inuits and Yupiks ( the other major Eskimo group) base much of their life on the sea. Both groups do some hunting, and the Inuits/Inupiaqs do more whale hunting than the Yupiks do. The Aleuts are another group who base their life on the water, but they inhabit the Aleutian Chain (hence the name of the islands) and, while it is incredibly stormy out there, it is not quite as cold.
