I used to subscribe to Politico on Kindle but after a few issues that read like they'd been written by the Democrat Party, I didn't renew. I don't subscribe to any newspapers, online or otherwise. If I were to subscribe to a newspaper, it would be either the Washington Times or the Wall Street Journal. Once in a while, I'll buy a copy of the Bangor Daily News when eating at a restaurant but usually, there's a free copy lying around.
Politico has always been a bit leftist, and Fox is now turning that way too. Breitbart is a conservative mouthpiece, and SRN is more impartial than most, but I think it is Christian-based.
We get a home-town rag that's mostly local news, obituaries, and grocery store ads. I find real news mostly on internet outlets. (My husband is a Fox News devotee but I don't drink the koolaid.)
Here in Britain I read the 'i'. It is strictly neutral politically and aims to present all sides of the argument. inews.co.uk
I took a look at that. I read an article about Trump and the report. Interesting that on your side of the pond they describe Fox News as rightwing.
Years ago, the Classified Ads were one of the best ways to find a job. The Sunday paper had so many, it was pretty shocking. Today there are still some, but compared to years ago, none at all. During the times I was unemployed, I'd go to Denny's for breakfast and look thru those ads. In fact, I got my last job in 2003 in Denver thru the Employment Ads in the Denver newspaper. Wife got her job the same way, when we lived there. Today, pretty different. A lot more jobs are online where a company will use Indeed.com or some other job website to advertise a job opening. Show a young adult a newspaper today and it would be like asking them to make a phone call on a dial phone or payphone...…...they wouldn't have a clue about it. "Talk about some ancient crap" they'd say.
In our Victor Valley Daily Press, we have the Main Section, the High Desert section, the Sports section, and the Horse section. (Real Estate on weekends) Hal
I think @Hal Pollner was sharing a unique newspaper which showed a whole section on horse talk. Not too many places in the USA has that sort of section. Very cool.
Isn't it? I thought that was why most republicans and conservatives primarily watched Fox news. It used to be my news channel until I no longer carried cable, just internet.
Fox leans neoconservative. On social issues, they tend to be to the right of the Democrats, but they share the same globalist goals. Until it becomes inevitable that someone else is going to be the nominee in a general election, they will usually back a Republican progressive, such as they did McCain, Romney, and any Bush that comes around. As for newspapers, since I last posted here, I have subscribed to the Epoch Times, which is a weekly newspaper. I don't know if I'll renew my subscription after this year, though. Although I like it when I read it, sometimes I haven't even opened the previous issue by the time a new one comes along. On the other hand, it makes good bedding for the worm farm.
