I just found out that my granddaughter had her baby yesterday. She is so sweet looking. I raised Sara after her mama died when she was just 10 years old. Now she is in her mid 20's. She graduated college last year, and now she is a mama too. She worked very hard to be able to be able to have a family, and to be able to be in a position that maybe will be easier than her mom's.
Thank you @Kate Ellery , she is in Georgia, and I am in Texas. All of my great grandchildren are in other part of the country, except the oldest girl, who turns 7 next month. The two boys are 7 and 8. I never thought I'd be in a position to see great grandchildren grow up.
@Ina I. Wonder So nice, Ina. Such happiness underscores the mistaken path I took lifelong, to remain childless. My bad. Frank
Congratulations @Ina I. Wonder , she is gorgeous. Do you know what her name will be, will they call her something Irish perhaps, because of her birth date..? Anyway she's is just the sweetest thing, I bet you're so proud.. ..
@Cody Fousnaugh , If you had 'whatever reasons' to tell yourself not to have children, then you have my respect. That took courage! I've seen so many people that drag kids from pillar to post, with little consideration, and even less guidance. I've seen people that have children with only the thought of having someone to take care of them in their senior years. Many times, this doesn't work. Sometimes I think people should have to meet certain standards before they are allowed to have children. @Patsy Faye , The baby was a couple of weeks early. It's funny in a way. When Sara first started showing, we joked that it was too bad that the baby going to miss the March holiday, but it look like we might have an Easter baby. This is the fourth St Pactrick's Day baby in our family!!!! Not one of them have any Irish bloodlines. @Holly Saunders , yes I'm over the top of my happiness scale. Actually, the doctors told us Sara would never have children. But she had not one issue throughput the whole pregnancy. Our new baby's name is Coral Jean ... Sara was going to name her Inajean, (In-a-jean), but I explained to her that I have never liked my name, but that I always thought Coral was a pretty name. Jean was her deceased mother's maiden name. So our baby girl is named for her grandmother and great grandmother. PS: Holly we've missed you. I hope everything has settled down for you, so you come play with us again.
My new great grand baby will be two weeks old next Friday. She's just like her mommy, peeping about before she jumps in.
