Usually in a case there are many persons of interest, especially people they knew or where associated with, doesn't mean they had anything to do with it. I've read many news articles that say so and so is a person of interest but not a suspect and they just want to talk to them, etc. But yes...anything is better than community member ...I'm a community member, so you need to make a distinction.
