Printer Woes Defeated

Over the weekend I was trying to print out a pdf file but couldn't get it to print. I checked out Windows' troubleshooting and Youtube but found nothing that helped. I reset and disconnected the printer; removed and added the printer at least four times still nothing. The document was going to the printer but it wasn't printing it out.

This is what I happened upon through my frustration and determination to figure out the problem.

In the highlighted section I clicked on the upside down symbol just to see what was there. Scroll to next image, please.







A list of every print driver that is installed on my computer. I don't know if you can read it but the printer that I'm using (HP Laserjet 1320) is listed three times (not four like I thought). Ta da!

I selected #3, then print and out came the document.

I just learned something tekky today.

FYI - The document says 'How you like me now?'

 

Good for you. I've got printer problems. Mine goes through the pringer but when it comes out it clooks as though it is setting
on its edge x o that the printing is not readable.Everything else seems normal.

Definitely sounds like the margin setting is off if the text doesn't fit the page. You would want to check your page layout on the document your working on.

 

The page sitting is fine Von. Something does not seem to be flat on the paper. It is only printing only half the line. If I printed this all you get is the bottom
or the top of each sentence so you are unable to read much.

 

Oh, okay. It's the actual printer. What kind of printer is it? How long have you had it? How long has this been happening? What have you already checked out to resolve it?

Could there be something inside to distort your document? Does it always look the same when it's printed or does it change?

Could be. It was printing A-okay one evening, the next day when I tried to print something I got this printing top half or bottom half of each sentence. Will check to see if anything struck in the printer, when I shake some of my malaise. Thanks, Von.

 

@Von Jones +++++++A Von, you have great determination....my efforts with my printers/scanners...FFFFFFFFail.....they take up residence in my closet. .
