There wasn't any drivers ed when I went to school.. I was taught by my father on his 1955 Chevy.. I was 16 at the time and after I was able to drive, I went for my "learners permit" and then I was able to drive with another adult in the car till I got the experience and then I went for my drivers licence at the age of 17... Do you know how to drive a standard shift ?? Is your car standard or automatic ?? I learned on one and had my first few cars a standard.. Later on, I drove a truck during the building of Expo 67.. Today almost everything is automatic which makes driving much easier especially at our age..
My car is an automatic ...I learned to drive a manual as you had to to get a drivers licence Have you ever heard of or watched an Australian mini series called ....A Place to call home .. It was on our free to air TV for two seasons ..then it went to Foxtel ...I have just bought and watched the whole series 1, 2, 3 and waiting for the release of series 4 .
Nope never heard of it Kate... Have you ever watched a programme from New Zealand called 'neighbours at war''?...it aired on one of our obscure Satellite channels early in the morning..and I became addicted to it, so I recorded every episode and watched when I got home ... it wasn't meant to be funny, but I found it hilarious... Sadly they've stopped showing it here now...
My wife watches "A place to call home" and quite likes it.. We don't get the one from her country, New Zealand "Neighbours at war" but she will keep an eye out for it.. She also likes the show "Eastenders" ... Seeing as she is from New Zealand, she likes all those British shows.. Are you also a lover of these shows ??? Personally, I don't particular go for them, but my wife won't miss any of them...
Yes ,I recently bought series 1,2 and 3 a place to call home ..it kinda gets you in ... Do you prefer to watch a documentary or a movie ...I like both ..but a hate allot of the movies now ,as they have way to much what I concider fowl mouthed language and violence ..
Documentary or one of the crime/drama shows as the movies these days are not our type.. Either too violent or too sci-fi or they don't know how to talk.. What ever happened to the old fashion love story or the musical ??? Do you record from the TV and if you do, what do you use to record ?? We don't have any method of recording any more, besides we like watching the TV with the daily shows.. Nothing much to record anyway.. We are always home anyway..
We record with the latest state of the art Sky Q Satellite box..... I was just thinking the other day how far technology has come since the days of VHS recorders. We can record 4 different channels at one time while still watching a 5th if necessary. As we both work full time, almost everything we watch is recorded so we can watch when we have time..often binge watching 2 or 3 programmes at once back to back.. I was searching through my ancestry yesterday hunting for relatively recent marriages and deaths ( within the last 100 years).. My grandfather died when I was 5 years old, and I never knew until I saw his death certificate online what he died from... so my question is... Would you have to search for info about your family online,,or have you always been uptodate and kept in close contact with all of your distant relations?
My sis and I have know our family tree pretty well.. I just met my cousins who live in Switzerland and him and wife and daughter came here for a visit he is into ancestry so I learned a lot from him too.. Do you do your own wall painting inside your home or do you pay for an experienced painter?. not saying your experienced, lol but are you a do it yourselfer?? I have done both..
As far as my ancestry goes, they are all ashes in the holocaust.. No use looking.. As far as painting goes, I painted the house we live in now when we bought it, but now I can't do it anymore.. When we sell, it will be done by a painter.. Do you sew?? Do you use a sewing machine and if yes, what do you make??/ My wife used to sew but since we live here, she hasn't opened up her machine..
I used to sew quite a bit when the children were young ,I've made hubs long tshirts he uses for PJs and what I call long sleeve t shits for wearing out in winter My machine is also an embroidery machine ,I actually embroidered a butterfly on a hand towel a few days ago .. Do you ever take part in online surverys ..I don't I don't trust them ..
Never. I don't trust them either, I don't do survey phone calls either.. Do you have any pets? I have 2 cats that hate each other !
We have a 5 year old Pomeranian which is all of 6 pounds.. She was a rescue dog we got when she was 4 months.. She is way overly spoiled which we love.. Give them love and you get back.. She NEVER barks unless there is a reason such as a wild animal outside, someone at the door, if she has to go potty, or if you play with her.. Good question and perhaps I will repeat the same question......
No I don't have any pets of my own because we both work full time, but I do have 7 adored grandfurkids...of whose lives I'm very involved.. Can you remember the first 45'' record ( or 78 if you're old enough).. that you bought with your own money?
If memory serves me correctly, it was, "In the Misty Moonlight." by Jim Reeves. I still have it. What is the first thing you look forward to in the spring?
There are a few things I am looking forward to this spring, but when the tractor comes out of its winter storage, the snow is gone, the weather is getting warmer, the snow tires come off, and the big winter coats are replaced with light jackets.. Lovely time of the year as the bugs are NOT out yet.. What I am NOT looking forward to this spring is the possibility that I will have to undergo a shoulder replacement operation for my right shoulder.. Are you bothered by summer bugs such as Black Flies, Mosquitos, or any other bug ??? We have all of them and the Black Flies are the worst, however they only last a few weeks and then the Mosquitos come out till the first frost..
