I always thought it was cool that they pronounced it that way, because it made sense to me. I think they both make sense (double U and double V), since it can be written either way. If my brain was working correctly, I'd study french again, I love the language and would like to visit Quebec again .
Why not suggest that to the family? I've cut back to usually cooking a turkey breast, although I do sometimes cook a whole turkey, particularly if I want the carcass for soup.
Why is there a weather channel to tell us that there will be 12 hours of brightness followed by 12 hours of darkness I think everyone has figured that one out. As far as telling us about when it will rain or not could be of help if they were accurate and here they are not. As far as floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes are normally cover very well on the news. Just a rant
I've been to Quebec and loved it...so European. I was a French major in college, now I can't remember anything except a few basics. I'm better at reading it and getting a general idea of what's being said but if I have to think of the word now, my mind doesn't remember. I was always good at languages and took French and then Spanish as my elective...easy A's for me. @Diane Lane , meant to quote your post here but it wasn't working.
I opened a book this morning and out dropped a four leaf clover I had pressed between 2 pieces of wax paper a very long time ago. I had to smile when I remembered how hard I looked for those four leaf clover and how happy I felt everytime I found one. Little joys in life mean just as much as the big joys sometimes....and this was one of those times for me.
Every once in a while (at least for me) Family sucks Big Time! Yes, I really said that...and at this moment mean it! I may be a Christian but I'm also human with a human heart that hurts!
@Babs Hunt - aah Babs, if only life went along forever smooth It will be smooth running again, never fear x
I don't mind the rough spots @Patsy Faye for the most part....but I do mind when the road only goes only one way!
@Babs Hunt - I know, I'm sure we have all experienced that Babs. I hope you find a good resolution to the problem, a good talk through maybe would help
Gosh @Patsy Faye, I would say to that: "Pour yourself a glass of wine and say to yourself: "This to shall pass."
It doesn't even matter if you think things through....this is a totally different world than we grew up in. And to many people aren't willing to talk it out or even consider another perspective....it's there way or the highway. I don't want to always be right...but I want my feelings to be respected always.
