The term "antennae" refers only to the sensors found on insects. For communications and other uses, they are referred to as "antennas". Long-Wire antennas, such as those used for short-wave and broadcast-band reception, are called "Aerials". I have one that I use for my communication receiver and crystal set. A roofing company representative who came to do an evaluation of the roof on the house I was in for a decade, said he was only there in person as a sort of whim of his - he said they already knew all they needed from the aerial photos available to all the contract roofers/ companies/ (and maybe individuals who know who to pay) ...... i.e. while it might well open a can of worms, getting a quote from someone who does roofs might reveal what's going on "up there" ... without them even needing to visit.... but don't spend any money nor sign any contracts for such unless you know what you are doing.
I didn't need to have the antenna checked after I noticed it was attached to the chimney at an angle. I had checked older photos of the house to make sure it had always been that way.
John , The Superintendent just told me there is an antenna on the top roof.....11 stories high. I also went to two places where antennas are sold; they recommended "Triplet". I will check with some friends around....Thanks.
Well, it seems Cablevision and Verizon got a new competitor. T Mobile offers wifi (computer) for $40,00 and if you add the TVV it will mean another $50,00....The saving in my case will be about $110,00 each month. Not bad.
