Progressivism is a philosophy brought to the U.S. from Germany in the late 19th century. Its main tenet is to transfer the power of government from the people and the legislature to the executive branch "experts" who are smarter than the people as a whole and know better what is good for the country.
Jesus, don't use the word 'experts', it makes me cringe, lol. 'Experts say' has become the mantra of government, media and frightened people who would not know an expert from a hole in the ground. Aside from that, what you wrote is interesting, I did not know that!
Didn't Trump reverse a lot, though? I follow American elections (love 'em to pieces, watched every one in my adulthood, in fact one year when our cable was out we rented a hotel room to watch, lol), but generally don't follow much between elections.
I like to anger the ignorant by pointing out that the day before an election I'm just another stupid sheep incapable of making its own decisions, but if I win that election I instantly become an Expert to whom you all must submit...exactly as all the current government Experts got their jobs.
Thats right. Looking back now children raised by strangers lose direction. Remember this commercial , Now we get to join the men in the heart and lung cancer wards and out kids now live in a lost nation.
The "Experts" term is their term, not mine. Teddy Roosevelt was our first Progressive president, but Wilson really got the ball rolling, and Teddy's cousin Franklin flipped the entire nation by using a "crisis" (the Depression) to push through many of his Progressive policies.
I don't. I've often said that if I woke up one morning to find that I had been put in charge of the world, my one and only act would be to put someone else in charge of the world.
Wilson help bring in The Federal Reserve and some say that was the end of The Republic. I heard Wilson realized after the fact that he just destroyed our nation.
I suspect he knew it and that was his goal. He certainly thought he knew what was best for the nation and the world, despite what the people wanted. He thought he could dictate the terms of the armistice in 1918-19 despite the fact the U.S. was only involved in the war for a year. He failed on both the national and international stage. His failure probably saved the U.S. but led to WWII in just 20 years.
No telling what or who all led to WW11. A picture of an Arab, Hitler and Prescot Bush the grinner's grandpappy were together right before that war. Plus Israel became a nation so whatever is most popular seems to be the most popular.
