I don't say grace before a meal. I've told God I'm thankful for the food we have and don't feel I need to keep repeating myself.
    He knows I'm thankful.

It makes more sense to me to be thankful after eating, but it still doesn't make sense to me to say a bunch of words out loud about food humans grew, processed, and prepared. My personal belief is prayers are only prayers when said in silence. If out loud it is a sermon, a show, and talking to others. When I see God out working in my garden, butchering an animal, and then cooking it for me, then I will thank him personally. P.S. Also God must clean my kitchen if he desires a super thanks.

In the New Testament at the Last Supper and also when Jesus fed the multitudes He both blessed the food and gave thanks for it before He or anyone else ate it. It is His example my Honey and I follow before eating our meals.
