Today I had for my 10 AM snack, Ritz crackers with melted cheddar on them and a Pelican Brewing Pre-Prohibition Cream Ale. It was the best Pelican beer I have tasted and my tasting pelican beer goes back to when they first opened their beach brewery in Pacific Shores, Oregon 1996. I was there for their Grand Opening.

Because I lack food impulse control, I picked some of these up the day after your post. I've had them with dinner 4 times since...once as a side with chili & a salad, and then as the main course with a big salad. I heat them in the Breville. I hope I don't burn out on them, but in the meantime, they are very good.

My only snack is a bedtime snack of graham crackers and milk. Other than that it's just 3 meals a day.

I've been eating pistachios lately...lots and lots of them. I should probably cut back...all those extra calories.

Regarding all nuts in general: my father managed what we call a "Five and Dime" store his entire career. These were the stores with the old fashioned soda fountains, bulk penny candies, and nut roasters. All of the nuts were fresh-roasted. My favorite were the Spanish (Redskin) Peanuts, but cashews are also good, especially when they're still warm.

I was a cashew addict until I lost my teeth. It was an expensive addiction but a lot less than cashew butter. I use to buy them by the gallon and now see that has quadrupled in price. I have gone to creamy peanut butter because purchasing cashew butter required me visiting the bank in person wearing a mask and wielding a gun.

And what did you say to the cashier, Faye?
    No, let me guess....
"Give me all the 'cash' you, or I'll blow your brains out." Perhaps not, but that's what I would have said. :D

Recently we discovered Outshine frozen fruit bars. They are pretty tasty, made with real fruit and have fruit pieces in each bar. My personal favorite is the coconut, and my husband likes strawberry and pineapple. I want to try the tangerine but it's always sold out.

I've stopped eating all nuts unless they are in something. I am saving my teeth and colon and the costs -- they were high before Covid and now, let them rot on the shelves....

The latest was Ritz Toasted Onion and Sour Cream crackers. Can't leave 'em alone. They are not allowed in the house now.
