I liked the drying rack too! You can still buy simple roller towels for the kitchen or bath, here is one modern example. http://cloudchamber.co/how-to-make-.../wonderful-kitchen-roller-towels-thumbrt-jpg/
Our Elmira cookstove as used during the very desolate year following my lay-off from work, holed-up as we were on 40 acres of northern arizona on which we had built a 16 X 40 foot gambrel cabin, attempting self-sufficiency due to cruel fact: no jobs presented. We had a Nubian milk goat, 6 laying hens, plenty of firewood, no electricity, no water, no phone (not even cell!). Strangely, as far from Tucson as it was, we received Tucson TV stations on a 12" B/W set operating off our car battery. The year spent up there may have been the best of all our 40 together. Frank
