I guess I live under a rock, Bobby... but I know nothing about Chip Roy. After looking at his website it appears that my son lives in his district, though. :D

I think this is Chip Roy's first term, but he is a pretty powerful speaker.

So far I am not impressed with any of the Republicans running for speaker. I say just draw straws, but if push turns to shove, I would go with Jim Jordan. It seems none of these yahoos wants to represent the folks that elected them, but rather cave to some nandy pandy idea about getting along with the "moderate" Democrats. I say let the Girl Scouts serve in congress. At least they help old folks across the street before selling them an overpriced box of cookies. I don't mind being gouged for a box of chocolate mints. :)

That was my thoughts also two years ago. We need someone who has some acorns and not afraid to investigate these lawless people in congress and senate and intelligence. I'm sure just about every government office is in one way or another involved with the Trump coup de tat, that was already proven with those scumbags in the CIA and FBI. They were really sweating and believe me there were a lot of markers called to keep Trump out for a second term. There is no way that half wit biden won that election without some serious ballot stuffing.

I took my toaster back for a refund and while there grabbed a box of cherry chocolates. They're gone now !

Those chocolates are really strong and you need a big glass of water or something to wash them down. I use them as a test for diabetes, if you can eat a box of those without falling over you're doing great.

Haven't you heard of body doubles? .. Besides, the House members haven't even been sworn in yet. :) It's worth a try.

Far too many Republicans can be counted on to choose the Republican most like the Democrats and to put that person in charge, which is why Republicans rarely accomplish anything when given the power to do so.

The most disturbing thing to hear when one of the Republicans is speaking in front of a camera, oh yeah I have lunch with my democrat friends everyday blah blah blah. Since when did the democrats do anything for this nation other than bankrupt us and then print monopoly money to make the idiots think we actually still have money. I always remember my deceased Uncle rail on about the democrats making coins that rust in the pocket. He was referring to some of the coins turning greenish while making your hands dirty too. It was fact not just a dislike for democrats, they actually did remove real ore from our coins. Now we have phony paper money not worth the paper it is printed on. Of course I only buy gold, wink wink..... and plastic toasters.

    Good morning to all-
Disagreement among politicians is good- it keeps them from setting an easy path to what they want, which may not always be the best path for the people. Disliking the "other side" is a good thing, too. It allows us to express our frustrations with government and also to keep out eyes open to what may be going on. Disliking the "other side" and making false claims and calling ugly names is not such a good thing. Politeness and consideration for others- 3even if we disagree- almost always seems to get work done better.

    We''ll be OK.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

I don't care who gets speaker of the house as long as they rip up Biden's state of the union speech and unplug the teleprompter. :D:D:D

McCarthy just failed on the 4th ballot. Trump's support for him doesn't seem to be helping at the moment. Brian Donalds' name has come up.
