Tattoos

Well, Yvonne, there are those, for whatever reasons aren't bothered by seeing numerous tattoos and facial piercings on young people. Either they are very open-minded or they have family member that has them. As I've already said a few times (or more), we are not that open-minded, at least not nearly as much as many.

Yes, people have had tattoos for centuries, but there are those that do think they can work anywhere and have visible tattoos and facial piercings. My reply, and online insert, shows that that "thinking" is very wrong.

Then again, I talked to a young lady that live here in our complex with her tattoo artist husband. She had numerous tattoos, lower lip piercing on both ends, nose ring, both eyebrows pierced and big things in ear lobes. She told me "I won't work anywhere where I can't show off my tattoos and piercings." So, obviously, with all of this on her, there are certain nice paying jobs she won't get.

And, Yvonne, we have got members in this forum that don't like tattoos and facial piercings. Most don't like to say very much about the "dislike", because of how there are members that are open-minded about the subject.

Currently, there is a young kid (18) in PRCA rodeo (Bareback rider) that sports a hanging earring in one ear. His name is Rocker Steiner. He is a heck of a Bareback rider, but there are many that say "get rid of the earring, Rock", because, apparently he's trying to change the look of rodeo contestants and numerous older, and even younger, rodeo fans are 100% against that.

Well, Hedi, everyone has fixations! Take a look at those that talk about Biden, Trump, Covid 19 and on and on. Actually ALL of it becomes redundant.

Perhaps you have tattoos or know those that do. Perhaps not, but neither tattoos or facial piercing bother you. Hedi, there are plenty of people, young and old, that don't like either. And, apparently there are many employers that feel the same way about someone working for/representing their company.

To a point, we've turned into a Nation of young people that look more like gang members or they've just been released from a state prison.

IOW, fixations are simply fixations and, most likely, you have them as well.

And, my hat never fits me too tight! LOL

 

I didn't know there was either, until I done some research on both. A nose ring (Septum) can be bought with two magnets that come together on the inside of the nose. There is no piercing done! There are even fake rings that clamp to the ear/ears and/or lip/lips (no piercing of the skin done).

There are fake tattoos that can be bought, and applied to the skin, on Amazon. They look extremely real, but simply peel off or wash off.

So, it makes me wonder just how many young people have "fake" of one or the other or both.

 

Actually, I done a new thread because I figured nobody what reply to this one. But, it's ok that it was moved to here.

Now, what I want to know is who would like to get a fake tattoo or nose Septum?????

 

For right or wrong, I've a long-held belief that "tramp stamps" are just another means for trying to project some image, the same way people use clothes, cars and other means. For decades, wannabe-bad-guy bikers have used tats, chains, get-back-whips, nazi helmets,leathers and loud mufflers for the same reason. .

 

WOW, a member that doesn't like the real ones, let alone the fake ones. Unfortunately, here, we are sort of outnumbered by those that are not bothered by seeing the real ones or probably by the fake ones. Actually, one member put me on "Ignore" because she didn't like what I was saying about both.

Sort of funny, but, one time I spoke to a guy that had both (real) and he was really a big-time biker/Chopper rider. He told me "those men and women who ride those big/nice dressed Harley's, Honda's or whatever, are just "wannabe bikers".

 

I think you missed the point I was making, having said nothing about like or dislike. It was about motivation for getting a tat.

 

Well, Ken, wife and I can, pretty much, handle seeing one or two tattoos that aren't huge, but that's not what young folks want, and get, today. Just seems like so much crime is done today by those that have multiple tattoos, that I think many think about that.

But, the reply that I did (#274) is about fake tattoos and facial piercings. But, perhaps to some, they are just as bad as the real ones. Don't know.

 

Could it not be that he should get rid of the hanging earring because it could be yanked out with part of the ear doing this sport?

 

Funny, Mary, but I'm in a rodeo group on Facebook and somebody in that group said just that. But, he is being considered, like his dad was, the "wild kid" of professional rodeo. The young man is a terrific bronc rider and, unlike many rookie bronc riders, he is going to be at the biggest rodeo in the U.S. in December (National Finals) in Las Vegas.

Can't really tell if he has any tattoos due to the fact that the rodeo association requires all contestants to wear long-sleeve shirts when competing and/or in the rodeo arena.

Actually, wife and I totally support the kid and are looking very forward to seeing him compete at the National Finals Rodeo in December. Hoping he can win a World Championship Gold Buckle!

 

I did not put you on Ignore for that Cody. Please read carefully. I agree with you, on all accounts of overly tattooed and metal hanging people. Yes, it looks bad in the professional world, regardless of the job. But the fact remains, we can not change that ,it is the new norm. You have talked this subject to death and refuse to move on. I saw your post ,and wanted you to know the thread you created was not reason to Ignore. However , I can not give real reasons for having putting you on Ignore, without being banned for life -oops almost said too much. Okay I am done.
