I have 4 tats, all of which are covered by a t-shirt. They are all classic "Sailor Jerry" designs, and I got them all after I retired. This thread has put me in the mood for another one, but not sure where it would go, etc.

edited to add: I bought myself a bottle of Sailor Jerry Rum for Christmas....

This thread was started Sept 2015 about 9 months after this forum was born. Tom Locke titled the thread just "Tattoos" which leaves room for any discussion about tattoos and could also include a senior tattoo artist showing their work here if they were so inspired. I think we must look at the opening post to get an idea of what direction Mr. Locke wished this thread to take.

Mr. Locke's opening post set the tone of the discussion. He disliked tattoos and voiced concern about how age changed tattoos and what once some might have seen as a nice work of art became an eyesore. Mr. Locke's thoughts on tattoos as we age were certainly a worthy topic of discussion for a senior's forum.

I read the responses of the first few pages to see if there was a general consensus and found that most weren't in favor of having a tattoo for themselves, but didn't care what others did, and weren't offended by others that had tattoos.

It wasn't long before one, instead of giving their personal reasons for disliking tattoos and leaving it at that, started speaking for others without any basis and placing judgment on others using an Old Testament verse out of context and it was apparent that poster had no basic understanding of the Old Testament laws and to whom and why they applied and certainly gave no credence to the basic teaching of Christ.

I find it sad that when one makes a senior appropriate post such as Locke did, any religious discussion ensues. Gravity-damaged tattoos have nothing to do with religion, diet, or any other special agenda that one may want to harp on. It is about how old age affects body art.

Personal dislikes should be voiced but stay personal dislikes and not a TIMELESS agenda! No one should assume they know what others think. 24 pages of mostly repetitious dribble. It might interest readers to know that Locke hasn't been seen here since 2017.

I am happy to say that my one tattoo appears to be holding up a lot better than the rest of me. Maybe I should tattoo my whole body and I'd live forever?

No tats, no piercings, no surgical modifications, just not interested.

So, nobody has any suggestions for tat #5??

    https://www.tattooeasily.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/sailor-tat-61.jpg

I'm thinking I have a little room in the middle of my lower chest, for one more. I'm leaning towards the Girl in the Martini glass (minus the sailor reference - i never served), or the Pick Your Poison girl. Already have the Hula Girl - it was my first one - and a mermaid.

I'm really diggin the online tat 2 yourself program. I thought my end-of-year fitness photo from this morning was lacking something and I looked old and plain, so I found an online tattoo program and did some art. It was painless. They wouldn't let me download it without paying, so I did a screenshot after referring to my notes from @Beth Gallagher. Pushing the Windows key along with the prt sc key was simple enough.:D:D:D

Sorry, but just plain ugly!! And, another member who has made a negative comment about tattoos/piercings, would agree with my assessment.
