My ears are pierced...the horror! At least though with piercings you can take them out usually unlike tattoos. Yes, they can be removed but it's not easy. Don't judge me but deep down hidden in my subconscious I prefer peircings over tattoos. Of course I never would get one but just saying... My children would disown me for starters...
And, many in society will judge, like that or not. During the summer months when we attended a church here, and people are wearing short sleeve shirts and blouses, I never seen any tattoo's at all. No body piercings either, except the ladies ears.
My ears are pierced (one hole on each ear) too @Chrissy Cross....most of the time I forget to put earrings in those holes though and I really only like post earrings...not the dangling ones. I personally don't care for other body piercings or multiple ear piercings either. Alot of people are taking tattooing to the extremes lately and in my opinion this is going to far. But as long as they are not forcing this on me then they have the right to do what they want to their bodies. But don't blame me if my mouth drops open when I see some of these extremists. Seeing Scriptures from the Bible tattooed on people is even weird to me...but I'd rather read a Scripture than some of the vulgar stuff some people are expressing with their tattoos. People are taking "express yourself" to the extreme in so many areas of life now days...tattoos are just one of those areas. I remember the little sticker tattoos we would get with candy or something I bought when I was a child. They were fun to wet and stick on us, but they were normal things and not the weird stuff I'm seeing now days. One little tasteful tattoo would not bother me....but I'm not seeing that for the most part now days. And what I am seeing turns me off for the most part. But as long as I don't have to live with it or be forced to do it too...others can have at it.
Another one of my cents worth: few years ago in a store and young girl walks in leading her boyfriend by his nose ring....I am like ...hey mate ya figger out now why she wanted you to get that
Well I actually know someone who got his male anatomy pierced and ringed...and ended up catching that ring on something and tearing the skin on his family jewels and getting an infection that took quite awhile to clear up. I think that wasn't a very pleasant lesson to learn the hard way!
Yes..agree...but painful...I know personally people whose bodies can not handle that kind of abuse and have infection among other things.
Hahahaha, hate to laugh at someone's pain but I made an exception. I only have one hole in my ear also but I do like the bigger earrings because with long hair I can't even see the studs. But these days it's rare that I wear any at all....only when I'm visiting one of my family members...then I wear some make up also. Otherwise I'm a plain Jane in Fresno.
I just can't say that the tattoo's and body piercings don't bother me, because in some ways they definitely do. But, when discussing tattoo's, the big question I'd wonder about is "why so many?" and "why on the face and neck?". I know having this stuff and dressing wierdly is a habit of Punk Rock fans and Heavy Metal Rock fans. Groups like Guns & Roses, Cinderella, Anthrax and Poison really show off a lot of tattoo's. And, then there's the cost of tattoo's. Money, money, money!!
I just don't think tattoos are pretty. Yes, some are very well done and detailed but I just don't like the way "art" looks on skin. It's too cartoonish, maybe because of the ink...I don't know. It's very rare that I'll see one that I like because of the artistry.
I tell people that I never got drunk enough to get one while in the Navy. Guess I'm just not the type of guy to have them.
