Those were cool little tractors for mowing or tilling, Yvonne. One neighbor had one. I had a Ford 8N with a rear scraper blade, tandem disc, spring tooth harrow, and 2 wheel trailer, but I tilled my 1/2 acre garden with my BCS 9.5 HP rear tine tiller. It was a real beast and really mixed in the compost when on slow speed. The farmers in Italy use the big BCS to farm several acres. Mine was Italian-made with a rope pull start. I sold it 20 years ago because I couldn't pull it without tearing up my shoulders. Now they use a Kohler 9.5 HP recoil start which is much easier to pull. Now if I garden I do it in large diameter about 3' pots. Easier than raised beds. So far I am not inspired since the weather this year is crazy and plus our water is expensive. Lots of hungry bugs out this year and not many birds. My area has several family-owned small organic farms and produce is very reasonable.

Mine was similar but was an older model with a more rounded front. It was a clutch and transmission drive unlike the belt drive Troy Built that couldn't compare in any way.

You never wanna walk behind another tiller again once you've had something like that.

And ^^THIS^^ makes gardening-for-one real tough to justify. Unless you use a canner and/or have a sizeable family, the motivation is more to do it as a hobby than for any other reason.

I had a refund check I needed to cash (yeh, I could install an app...) so I took the long way to my bank that's already 16 miles away when I take the direct route. My bank's west of me so I headed east and then south and then back west through a couple of counties. Over 25 miles of driving through the winding unmarked back roads, and only one stop sign...and hardly any vehicles. Dunno why I find it so relaxing.

Then I took the main highway back north to Walmart and picked up some odds & ends.

The rest of the day's gonna be spent inside avoiding the thunderstorms. They're calling for t. storms every day through Sunday...some AM, some PM, some all day. Suddenly I'm at the beach!

At the Urologists' office way too long, but went well . Took the tablecloth I ordered from Amazon to Kohls to be returned. Big gash right in the middle of tablecloth, plus seemed too big. Left there went to Wal Mart only because I had to buy new Shark vacuum cleaner. Instead of the $159 dollars their tag said- was $ 109.. I will take it thank you.
Went home Mark put vacuum together while I made lunch. Vacuumed just our bedroom and geez mucho suction on the new one. Will finish vacuuming later. Decided to get on here and see how's your day going :)

Got up this morning and scraped off the grill from last night's dinner so I could replace the cover before it rains. Then I stocked up on some food items I ran out of:

-Made a batch of flavored butter (Ethopian Clarified Butter.)
-Made a batch of reduced butter fat (ghee.)
-Made marinara sauce, portioned it out and have it in the freezer to set.
-Made meatball sauce, portioned it out and have it in the fridge waiting for freezer room to free up.
-Threw together a batch of slaw.

When the servings of sauces are frozen, I'll vacuum seal them and have them ready for dinners.
Now I'm off to have lunch somewhere. I've done enough kitchen time until dinner rolls around.

I had my annual checkup from my regular cardiologist this morning, and everything went well. He said that my heart is doing good, no more a-fib, and he is very happy that I am going to the fitness center several times a week to swim, and trying to close the activity circles on my Apple Watch each day.
He was sharing with me that so many times, he has people come in, miserable and sickly, and complaining about everything, and wanting him to fix it with medication.
He said that when he asks them if they exercise, they tell him that they would never even consider doing that.

We all know that most doctors remind people about proper, healthy diet and exercise, and it must be really discouraging for some one to be a doctor and wanting to help people stay healthy, and they won’t even try to do what they can.
He had a happy smile and enthusiastic attitude when we talked, and it made me feel even better, knowing that it was important to him that I was doing my best to be healthy.

I have lost another couple of lbs with the starch diet and the exercise, and that makes me happy, too. It is very slow to happen at my age (76), but at least, it is happening, and going in the right direction.
One of the ladies that I see at the fitness center, and had not seen for a while, gave me a compliment and said that I looked bright and glowing, and looked younger.
Things like that really help to motivate me. So, all in all, this has been a wonderful day.

I've often thought the same thing myself. There's probably a broad spectrum of unheeded advice that must make it tough for them to show up to work every day.

Congrats on all the good news!!! As Bobby (and your doctor) likely tells you, there are other measurements of improved health besides what that scale says.

Today I'm gonna replace the filters in my whole house system. I installed the water softener myself, and decided to install two filters since I was providing labor: one to catch the large stuff (5 microns), and then a charcoal one to sweeten the water and catch the small stuff (<1 micron.) When I go to bed tonight I'll run cleaner through the water softener and let it do a recharge overnight.

Since the softener has a timed reminder that notifies me when the above needs to be done, I use it as my "change the electric toothbrush head" reminder. (There goes 15 seconds of my day.)

The rest of the day is likely to be lazy, as it's supposed to rain thru tomorrow afternoon.

Rereading the title of this thread, I realized I should purchase a crystal ball before replying but I already have the front lawn edged and mowed and the side weed ate and the neighbor's dog poo catapulted into his driveway. I was amazed at my 50-foot cast. My shoulder hurts now and I still have the back to edge and mow. Well back out for another 2 hours. I suspect everything should go great now that I made an Olympic-worthy catapult and relieved my stress over a bad neighbor with no respect for others.

Well, right now, I'm putting on new marine vinyl, bought at Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts last night, on the two cushions that go over the engine of our boat. They each sit on a metal ledge that is attached to the back of our boat bench seat. Aren't taking the old vinyl off, just stapling the new over it. We have an "industrial" type hand stapler (not powered). The old vinyl was looking mighty gross, even though we tried to clean it up.

Next, we may buy a couple of cans of marine white vinyl spray paint to paint the two seats with.

We just found out that we only have 8 hours (marine engine hour meter), on the new block we had put in, in 2012. Shows how much we didn't use our boat after having the new block put in, in Florida. Of course, there (Florida) we had tides and different navigational stuff to contend with, whereas here, we don't.

There are eight people I have been trying to call today and their phones are constantly busy. Glad my calling is not urgent. I give up and will give it a go tomorrow.

Remember the days before Voice Mail, texting and email?
Remember we would be away from our homes with no way to know if we missed a call?
Remember when you couldn't lose or misplace your phone because it was screwed to the wall?
Remember when no one "ran out of minutes" and was still among the living?

I don't think I've gotten a busy signal in years. Most calls just roll to a voicemail if the recipient is on their phone. Maybe that was a "busy circuits" thing instead.
