    Hello,

Lately, when I'm composing an Email or posting or responding to a post on this Forum, I'm bothered by a vertical, rectangular menu of choices which floats to where I'm working, blocking my view until I chase it out to a margin, but it floats right back!

    It says:

    Back
    Forward
    Refresh
    Undo
    Redo
    Select All
    Create Shortcut
    View Source
    Print
    Print Preview
    Add to Favorites
    Properties
    Popups

How do I permanently kill this nuisance? My W7 machine never did this to me!:(

    Thanks, Beth & others,:)

Which browser are you using? (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, etc?)

Beth, I select AOL from the Taskbar and select google from its list when I want to surf the Web.

Therefore, I don't have any idea what my Browser or Search Engine is.

I'm sure @Beth Gallagher will be able to help you whenever she is back online. You should have paid her instead of the Geek Squad. :D
They really should've helped you out more. It's probably is your setting options, but I don't know enough about different search engines to help you out.

Sounds like they created a shortcut to your AOL email account and put an icon on the task bar for you. I'm going to guess that you're probably using Edge (the Microsoft default browser.) I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with AOL since I haven't used it in many years. Does the box pop up when you right-click by chance? Can you right-click on the box and select "close"?

I never paid the Geek Squad a dime. I've got Total Tech Support which handles all my computer issues free of charge for a year, as long as I bring them the 'puter.:p

Nope! Right-clicking does nothing, and there's no "close" on the box.

    WAIT A MINUTE!

After weeks of fighting the unwanted responses from my mouse clicks, even after multiple clicks and mashing down on the buttons, I substituted the mouse from my 7-year-old W7 system, and everything cleared up like magic! I now use a light touch on the old mouse's buttons and the computer responds like it's supposed to!

The troublesome W10 mouse was only 3 months old, wearing the HP logo yet! The problem with the windows menus crowding me out of the lines I was fighting to type is now gone!

I feel so much better with that nagging problem gone!

Good for you, Hal! I'm glad the old mouse solved some of your issues.

Glad you found a good solution @Hal Pollner !! My dad just bought a new Win 10 a week or so ago. He has barely found his email and his games thus far. :D
