Well it has been 15 days since I placed my settings, and things are growing faster than I expected. I'm not sure what is going on with the spots on my cucumber plants. But it might be what I sprayed on it for what looked to me to be the beginning of aphids. Although I saw no movement, (and I watched for some time), I chose to try and get ahead of them if it were aphids. So far only two of the setting didn't make.

Thank you @Clare Smith , I love gardening, but I can't go outside much between May and October. So this type of gardening is the only kind I can do during this time period. I love experimenting with plants and different gardening environments. o_O

I'm really surprised to see the tomato plants growing so well. I was told they wouldn't grow indoor as they needed much more sunlight than the tower could supply. So far they seem to be wrong.

Do you like gardening, and if so, what kind of garden do you have? Even when I lived in an apartment I was able to garden out on the patio in containers. Once I even turned the second bedroom into a greenhouse. :)

Well I now have cucumbers growing in my kitchen tower garden. My tomatoes are close to blooming I think. I've had a salad almost everyday for about a week, and my garlic chives are available every other day now. Here is a picture of a couple cucumbers, and it looks like I'll be getting plenty of them. I like them best when they are still on the small side.

I'm still waiting for my tomatoes to bloom, but other than that, all is growing as planned. :)

Does any know much about growing caraway? I have no clue as to how they grow, vine, stalk, or even a tree. But I've never heard of a caraway tree.

I found another aerogarden for sale on Craigslist and just bought it and set it up. It is one of the large ones like my Bounty, which holds seven pods. This is an older model, but new they are between $200-$300, and I got this one for $20, plus two extra sets of grow lights that we can use anywhere for another $10.
As you might guess, I am pleased with my new aerogarden purchase. I just got it all set up and running and it works just fine.
Last week I ordered one of the seed starter tops for my first aerogarden and it will start about 50 plants at a time, and then you move them as they grow enough to be transplanted.

Wonder what happened to @Ina I. Wonder's huge aerogarden? I sure do miss that very special woman.

I miss her SO much, too ! I think that not a single day goes by that there is not something that I would like to share with her, or just to have a casual conversation.
The last time I visited with Patricia, she said that the whole estate is tied up in probate and looking like it might take a while for everything to be settled. Her Find Friends app still shows her at home, so I am thinking that maybe Bobert is still living there and they have power and such still on.
Patricia said that Izzy has found a home with one of Ina’s relatives who also needed a service dog, and I am glad to hear that part at least has been settled , and to a good end.

Is Ina gone? I haven't been here long enough to know what happened. Her Tower Garden looked wonderful! They are supposed to be really good for growing fresh greens, but she grew other things as well. The Tower Garden was copied (I think) from something called a Garden Tower that is simpler and much more manual. I made my own Earthboxes some time ago, and they work fine. I am considering making a Garden Tower this Spring to see how they work. You can search for all of them on the internet.

Ina (Ina I. Wonder) was one of the original members of this forum, along with myself and several others here. She was also a close personal friend of mine, and Ina was beloved by everyone on the forum, @Don Alaska .
Sadly, she passed away unexpectedly last December very shortly after her birthday.
You will find many of her threads and posts scattered in most of the threads that are on the forum for the past several years, and under the section for “People I have known”, there is a sub-catagory called “in Memorium”.
Ina, as well as several other members we have loved and lost, still linger on in our hearts in all of the threads we come across their posts, as well as in the memorium section.
Because this is a smallish forum, in many ways we are become rather like extended family here, and when someone is absent, we miss them, and when they are gone, we mourn their passing.

Here are all four of my aerogardens, all set up and working. I have moved some of the hydroponic plant starts out onto the porch because it is warm enough for them to be outside, and this way they can get some real sunshine.
I should have lots more starts coming up in the aerogardens, and then I will either transplant them into containers, or into hydroponic containers.

The little cottage cheese containers you can see are one of the hydroponic experiments, and they have basil growing in them.

Today actually started looking like SPRING, and so I have been working on the aerogardens today. They have been sitting empty all winter, and I cleaned them out and filled them with fresh water and Bobby plugged them all in and they are all happily bubbling away again.
I have the two top (smaller ones) planted, and I am going to get the other two larger ones either tonight or in the morning.
I put some Swiss chard in the smaller ones because by the time it gets too large for the aerogardens, I will be able to transfer them into a pot outside.

You can also just harvest the chard as young leaves, then you don't have to deal with the stems and you get fressh salad greens...or smoothie greens.:)

Actually, I do usually harvest greens that I grow in the aerogardens, and in the heat of summer , when most greens like lettuce and spinach wilt outside in the heat, I can grow them fresh in the aerogardens.
I usually keep them running over the winter for fresh greens also, but this year, I just got tired of dealing with all of it, and turned them off.
I have the special pod-holders that are just for starting seedlings, and they are only good until the seedling gets tall enough to be replanted elsewhere, and with those I can start more plants at one time.
