But there IS a law that the I-9 form must be used with a 5K per employee fine if it is not filled out.
Unfortunately, although technically, a Social Security card is not a form of I.D. it is however one of the 2 parameters needed to fill out the I-9 and Social Security cards are easy to get and multiple users can get away with using just one for a lengthy period of time.

The Huntsville, Al. area was raided a few years ago and several restaurants and construction company’s felt the weight of the law and some of the consequences of hiring illegals. The largest consequence was that some restaurants, particularly the Latino ones, closed down for a period because they didn’t have enough legal employees to handle the business.

Now, I will agree that the major lobby groups including those representing Ag and a couple of other groups have a lot to do with the debacle.
But fellowed with that are those politicians who make a ton of money off those lobbyists and a ton of votes for hampering the I-9 process.
I can’t remember the name right off the top of my head but during the time when Utah built the Olympic Village, the governor was broadcast live having a ceremony with the then Mexican President giving kudos to the Latinos responsible for helping to build the village because in his words, the whole event would not have been possible without the Latinos.
That’s all good except for the fact that a hush job was enacted when the question came up about the illegals and I-9’s.

We're being much too serious for a Sunday noon. Give a listen:
Bobby, because some people some of the time are penalized for hiring illegals doesn't override the fact that we've become overdependent on the cheap labor of desperate people. If it's maintained that a building couldn't get built or a crop couldn't get harvested without this subsistence labor, it's because we've come to expect that a certain thing should cost a certain price and no more. If we protect our own citizen's labor value and keep out the cheapest third world labor ( we can help them in other ways ) then the free market will find the proper price for that good or service. If that means an avocado costs a little more, so be it. The overall standard of living will be higher.

    No argument there.
Now, we just have to close the loopholes in relation to congressional payoffs.,

Then of course, we need to shake up the employers who would hire illegals. To me, the perfect doorway for having a fantastic review of personnel records is nearly past. Whilst all the doors were closed for a few weeks, NSA, ICE and other agencies could have been busy.

As a closer, it’s actually harder for an American Citizen to get a job. If a person doesn’t have 2 forms of I.D. (a homeless person maybe) then he or she doesn’t qualify for whatever job they might be applying for. But here’s the crazy thing, I once worked a restaurant that required Everyone to be able to sign the I-9 but yet, I found out that the entire utility department was filled with illegals and got paid in cash.
One of the illegals was caught with multiple I.D’s at a DMV and was deported but was back 2 weeks later. I overheard the manager asking him what his new name was which is when I quit.

I think that we need to be checking out the people who come here, and stopping illegal trafficking is a good idea. Many of the same routes and tunnels are used for several different purposes; illegals sneaking in to the United States, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
If we can stop the routes that are being used fo all kinds of smuggling, then we can work on a way for immigrants to come here legally, like we have always done.

We have neighbors who are Hispanic in several nearby houses, and they have proven to be much better neighbors than the thieves and drug dealers who lived near us before.
I do not know if these people are here legally or not, but I am very much in favor of them being legal citizens, if they are not, and I think that they are very hard-working, and family is important to them. It is good to see them outside having a BBQ, or just watching the kids playing in the yard and running through the sprinkler .

I think that building a border wall, and finding and closing off the tunnels is important, and I sincerely hope that it gets done. I know that stopping the drug dealers and human traffickers is one of the most important things that need to happen in this country.

Also, I don’t think that avocados would go up to $6 each. We already get food from China that comes clear across the ocean, and sells for less than food we grow in this country. I don’t see why food from Mexico and South America would be any different than it is right now.

I expect we need Mexican products. We need the cheaper labor for our auto industry. We import much of their oil.
We are probably the largest users of products furnished by the Mexican drug cartels and I suspect the cartels are
the true authority in Mexico probably by agreement with the Mexican government and the controlling cartel. The cartel can take out any politician they want and do take out certain low level officials who want to be do gooders. But I suspect that is a necessity to maintain any level of normal life in Mexico.
But maybe not. The wall may be a good thing and stop the flow of Mexican nationals and central americans from entering the country illegally. Perhaps we'll soon see.

What we don't see on the lame-stream media is why Central Americans have to leave their countries. Could it be because US corporations, with the help of our state department, have been corrupting their governments for capital gain for the past century?
