No joke! I'm glad I'm on the end part of my journey on earth before the whole world gets so crazy I wouldn't want to live in it anyway.
I guess that's why death was invented. Easier to die than accept change and work with it to make things even better. Am worried about climate, however.

Absolutely right. The word is over-used and inappropriately used. It's used as a way to try to dismiss those who disagree with current events.
The stupid thing is that the country of Pakistan, has taken its name from the people who settled there, just as Afghanistan has. It's ok to say 'Afghans' but not 'P...'! Somehow the word has come to be regarded as an insult.
Pakistan did not exist before India got self rule. The country was split and the Muslims called their new indpendant country Pakistan. Stan means land Pakis are the people of that land. There should be no insult in that word.
If it becomes one, it can be moved there. However, I don't expect there's anyone here who is in favor of bringing it back. Without going back and re-reading all five pages, I think the focus of this thread is on the origins of the word, which are really quite innocent, unlike much of its usage.
This is a forum, not a conversation in a bar or on a street corner. We have categories by topic, sub-forums by topic, and threads on-topic. There are a few threads where pretty much anything can be discussed but every thread can't be about anything or nothing in particular.
Posts about the British Empire have been moved to a thread with that name. Let's get back on topic here, please.
