There was a news story several years ago that some police departments were imposing maximum intelligent testing, where they wouldn't take anyone who was too smart.
"It's time for your vackSEEN. Now we're all EEEkwal..." Aired in 1986 during the 1st season of the TWZ revival, based on a story published in Playboy in 1958. This is the type of stuff I read from the time I was a kid throughout my adult life. These people knew what they were writing. The difference between the story and reality is that in the story the parents break down and cry, whereas today some number of them would say "I'm sure that government knows best."
I recall reading that so many of the cop's jobs were boring, and if you were too intelligent, you would lose interest. I wonder if al the detectives and such come up from the ranks or are there the equivalent of "OCS" or the military academies to provide detectives and such who can skip over many of the boring aspects of police work?
I would have thought that "making detective" is part of the career path. I took a quick look on the web page for the police department in Fairfax County VA (just outside of DC.) Here is their career path for a rookie cop from the position of Police Officer 1: Eligible for promotion to Police Officer First-Class (O-18) after two years of satisfactory sworn service. Eligible for promotion to Detective is a competitive testing and assessment process open to Private First-Class Officers with two years of satisfactory sworn service. Eligible for promotion to Master Police Officer (O-19) is a competitive process open to Private First-Class Officers with five years of satisfactory sworn service. Eligible for promotion to a supervisory position of Police Sergeant (O-20) is a competitive testing and assessment process open to Private First-Class Officers with four years of satisfactory sworn service. Of course, that's not universal to all jurisdictions, and it does not say if detectives exclusively come from the rank & file. I could not find a Detective Job Description that might (or might not) cite requirements for years of patrol officer experience/
Well, the whole world is deceived by bigpharma, right? How did they deceive (or just bribe?) the government officials, politicians everywhere, teachers, schools, common man, and so on ? Insidiously I guess 'they' are the ones 'teaching them', They rose in power through all levels , top down, bottom's up?, sidewise throughout most all societies. They have the money, control, and power.
People get sick from malnutrition. (due to lack of knowledge/ poor schooling) Druglords offer feelgood?& drugs to distract them for profit and more troubles.. Healers provide the nutrition simply needed to heal them, when they can. Druglords don't like healers, and do all they can to snuff them.
Nope, I wonder what brands each kid's pizza was. If they were the same brand and size, I am on the teacher's side. If not, here we have smaller and larger pizzas so I might be on the student's side. But then, I am quite contrary.
I think the point is that the child's answer is totally "reasonable" and the teacher is wrong. Nowhere is it stated that both pizzas are the same size. The issue is "reasonableness" and the child obviously gave it more thought than the teacher.
Also note that they did not rationalize 4/6 to 2/3 so as to make it easier for the teacher to understand. Poor friggin' kids are being abused by this crap.
