A bright morning, but a cold breeze. We see lots of crows and jackdaws around town, but not usually rooks. This one evidently popped in for a takeaway.

Good morning. Yesterday I refused to turn my heater on as it was the first day of spring here. But I froze all day so I finally broke down in the evening. My daughter is coming over today for our weekly walk together. I go faster and farther without even knowing it because I'm interested in the conversation going on. I usually peter out before reaching a steep incline on the last leg of the walk but hardly notice when she's with me. She's good for me…very motivational :)

@Tom Locke , I had to google the difference between crow and rook, and will soon google jackdaw. Never heard of "jackdaw". You'd have to be awfully close to see the tiny difference between the crow and rook it seems….just a little gray at the base of the beak and ankles is what google said. Just checked out the jackdaw…another in the crow family it said. I always thought there were just crows and ravens (bigger shinier crows). Thanks for the lesson, Tom.

A spotter's guide to corvids found in the UK. In order of appearance: Carrion Crow, Hooded Crow, Chough, Jackdaw, Jay, Magpie, Raven and Rook. Hooded Crows are found in northern Scotland, but are not really a separate species as they will breed with Carrion Crows. Choughs are the rarest of our corvids. Ravens are not common, despite what they might tell you at the Tower of London. Crows, Rooks and Jackdaws are the ones you're most likely to see.

Beautiful birds @Tom Locke. :) Good Morning Everyone. Sorry I'm so late this morning. I actually slept in past 9am this morning and that is a very rare occasion for me. Our grandson's Birthday party and barbecue was really nice yesterday and it was good to gather with Family again. I forgot my camera but it worked out fine since everyone was taking pictures with their phones. Our now 5 year old grandson got everything he has asked for and is a very happy boy! Of course you can't tell that in my pic because this is one from a serious moment at Granny and Papaw's house a short time ago.

We have Many many rooks here...as well as Ravens, crows and Jackdaws ( all members of the crow family)... The jackdaws and Ravens don't come into the garden usually, but they do settle on the grass verges along the road and in the fields in large groups . some of them are so HUGE they are the size of small dogs ..quite scary...

Good morning it's 6:30 am and after waking at 5:00 am I just lay in bed letting my mind wander free, an endless stream of thoughts about life, death, what am I going to do today, is it someones birthday.........I finally made some coffee and will wake up properly now.

Have a great Tuesday and seize the day...........I am not ready for that yet.............maybe later ;)

Icy cold this morning...just looked out the window and my car is covered in a thick layer of Ice, although the sky is already blue at 6.45 am...so I've gotta go out now and scrape some ice off the side windows and turn the screen heaters on before I get ready to leave for work...

Hope you all have a good day... :D

They are, I believe, meant to be magpies. Perhaps they are yellow-billed magpies, which are found only in California.

Good Morning! :) The mist is rising from our "water view" this morning and it makes me wish I had a much better camera to capture it's rising with. Yet just being able to capture this beauty with my eyes is blessing enough this morning. Got some sad news last night that my brother-in-law's prostrate cancer has spread further into his bones and feeling like I wish I could take my husband's sorrow and pain away at this news from his only brother and sibling. Hope all of you have good news today.

Crisp morning here. I love the time change and longer daylight. @Tom Locke I enjoy your bird pics. I have seen magpies in our yard quite a bit..I think they are pretty.

Hugs to @Babs Hunt for your bad news...so sorry :(

Warm thoughts @Holly Saunders and sending loads of sunshine. You must be tired of icy weather.

Having scrambled egg on toast and a wedge of cantaloupe...I mail out a few Easter cards..thought I had them mailed..haha..umm..put down the visor yesterday..five cards fell out.
