I'm rather stuck in the house waiting for some books to be delivered. I seem, though, to have found a courier that specialises in time travel. On their website, they are telling me that the parcel will be delivered "on April 11th or sooner." I wonder if I could get it last week, then.
Aw, it's Monday already?! Mornin' @Terry Page ! Rainy Days and Mondays... yep, I definitely have one of those... it started pouring at 2:30, and it was loud enough to wake me.
Good morning, @Tom Locke ! I hope your books arrive safe and sound. Often when I get an "or sooner" notification, the package does indeed arrive a day or more early... but rare. Last week I had one totally stall and the place from which I ordered it couldn't track it either. It was physical gift cards... when the mail was finally "found" and delivered, the gift cards weren't activated. I'll tell ya, customer service is getting sloppier. Is it the same there?
We seem to have a plethora of delivery companies and courier services. Some are quite helpful and even give you a time span of an hour for when the delivery will arrive. With others, you get told the day and nothing else. Then there are some that give you no concept at all. A few months ago, I had a parcel sent to Brighton. I live in Scotland and Brighton is on the south coast of England, some 500 miles away. Not sure how they worked that one out.
Good morning my friends, I'm getting ready to take a morning nap, I hope. I just couldn't get to sleep last night. I get night sweats sometimes and when I do I can't sleep, and my doctor said I was in congestive heart failure, so my lung feel like there half full right now. But you guys are my best diversion. I hope your ready for spring, because it's already here, and I'm getting ready tomorrow, to have my three a/c window units cleaned for the summer. That always helps me breath better. I guess it's the humidity that gets me. But it looks like we'll be getting some rain today or tomorrow.
Good morning. Phone rang at 4:10 am, code red weather alert. The storm came through about a half hour later. So, I've been up 21/2 hours and still have 3 hours until it's time to leave for the doctor appointment. I'd like to go back to sleep but I might not wake up in time.
Hope things are good now Sheldon. We were just on the fringe of that system down my way in Houston. Got some rain and heavy wind, and it all blew out. .
Hope everyone has a beautiful Monday. I'm going to start doing some of my Spring Cleaning this morning...I've procrastinated long enough on this. For all those not feeling well this morning I hope as the day goes by you feel much better. And I wish you all JOY today.
I love orange marmalade on toast.. Cloudy start to the week..just now waking up. Hope everyone has the nicest day possible. I know everyone is coping with something so be good to yourself.
Mornin. Another late start for me. Seems to take me most of the morning to gather enough energy for a couple hours of whatever. My lack of sleep may have lots to do with it. Gonna ask the doc for something to help with that. Reminds me of the time I fell asleep in my Jon boat. I got off work at 7am one warm, sunny spring day. Dad and another guy wanted me to go mushroom hunting with them in the area where I kept my boat, called the breaks. It's a large tract of land equally shared with woods and interconnected sloughs, ponds and swamps. I agreed to take them in my boat to a hard to get at spot, most likely still untrod by other mushroom hunters. I parked the boat against the bank and dad and his friend wandered off into the woods. It was such a warm and peaceful day, I decided to just rest a few minutes, and stretched out in the bottom of the boat. A violently rocking boat startled me awake. There stood dad and his pal, rocking the boat and laughing. They'd been gone several hours, each filling their sacks with mushrooms. I slept through the whole thing. Once, I fell asleep under an oak tree while squirrel hunting. Something hitting me on the head woke me. I looked up and right into the face of a squirrel coming down the tree. Either he dropped a nut on my head or dislodged a piece of bark, either way, he wound up in the skillet. In the old days, I could sleep anywhere. Now, nowhere, it seems.
@Karen McKenzie It's good on pork chops, too. @Ina I. Wonder Hope you're feeling better. I really wish we could start life feeling crappy and then feel better as time passed, instead of the other way around. @Sheldon Scott That sounds scary. I'm glad we don't have too many major storms here, other than being in a hurricane zone, of course. Hope the doc appt goes well. Ha ha, that made me laugh, @Ike Willis, I'll bet they loved the expression on your face when you woke up. I just finished my first large cup of coffee. I don't believe in little ones, unless it's after dinner. It's time for a refill. I hope everyone has a decent day.
Good Morning everyone... Pitch dark and lashing down with rain now at 5.30am ..it feels like winter.. Daughter has been here for the weekend from the continent where she lives, to celebrate her birthday which is actually in 2 days time....she flew back last night... I had a very long day at work yesterday after a very late night on Sunday after Daughters' birthday celebrations , so I was waaay too tired to visit the forums when I got home last night ..... I'm working from home today, so hopefully I can grab a nap later today to get me back on track... Hope you all have a good day...
