Hot here, as well, so I took the kitties out earlier, and am hunkered down with ceiling fans on. I'm trying to to use the AC until I really need it, which won't be long. Hope everyone's having a great day!
I guess I should have called this The Good Day thread. It takes me a while to get going, particularly on the days when I can't have coffee, but at least I made it online. It looks like storms will be hitting soon, and I heard the alert on the t.v. earlier, but missed whatever announcement was on. But, the reason I came to post was that I saw something out of the corner of my eye a bit ago, and it was a heron flying into the pecan tree outside my window. There are so many leaves on the tree already that I couldn't get a good shot of it, and by the time I got to the best vantage point, it flew off. I don't know if it was upset about the weather, or if a predator was near the nest, but it flew back over to the tree where it hangs most of the time. I've never seen one in this tree, and wish I could have gotten a good pic or two.
It is getting warmer in my area, still a little cool in the mornings. I have not put my plants out yet because of the cooler nights. It feels good to stand in the warmt of the sun and see the trees with all the leaes beginning to come out. I would say spring has spring.
Spring has definitely sprung now, Pat. I know you wrote that a while ago, but it didn't take long at all for everything to fill in, and bloom. It must be morning somewhere, though, and hopefully, it's a good one!
Hi Diane! It is now 7:41 am here in Thailand. The sun is up, but not strong yet as we have some nice clouds in the sky. I am out of coffee but I did manage to find enough for a decent cup. No new aches and pains and the old ones are behaving, the chickens are crowing, the mynas are screaming and I am happy. And only about ten more days for the retirement funds to come in. Definitely a good morning and hope you and all the rest are enjoying it too!
Good Morning, Richard! It's cloudy here, and we've already had a transformer blow in the neighborhood, but thankfully, it only shut down my monitor briefly. Not all of my neighbors were as fortunate, but hopefully their power will be back on shortly. That sounds pretty relaxing, other than not having coffee for the rest of the month! I keep odds and ends for when that happens. I have some barley that is a coffee substitute, and also have a little espresso on hand. I've been up for hours, and haven't even made it downstairs to the kitchen yet, to make coffee or breakfast, but I'm heading there in a few. Have a great day!!
The calender says this is the first day of summer, my temperature is 55 degrees outside. I know enjoy the cool day because when it gets hot is is going to be hot for awhile. I have plants out that may have suffered over the cold night last night. Time for coffee. Have a good weekend.
I know some up North are having cold weather still, it seems to be an odd year. It's been in the high 80s here, but thankfully, the rain/storms that came through yesterday cooled us off some. I hope your plants are o.k. I'm glad I only have to worry about mine a few times a year, when we have our infrequent frosts. Other than that, they stay outside, uncovered, and seem to do well. Have a great day!
LOL, I went to the ATM and pulled out some of my emergency money. Lack of coffee is an emergency, isn't it?
Lack of coffee is a definite emergency, and ATM-trip worthy! @Ken Anderson The weather seems more extreme than usual this year. We had several trees down in my neighborhood this morning, at least one was blocking a road. North of here (hopefully not too close to @Ina I. Wonder), folks are being evacuated from a potential flooding situation relating to dam that could break or be overrun because of the heavy rains we've been having, and a possible tornado hit an apartment complex in SW Houston.
@Richard Paradon, coffee is more important than food, meds, or even a morning shower. Coffee is addictive!!!
