Mornin'. It's 53 partly cloudy degrees on this Monday morning, here in the beautiful downtown little city on Iowa's east side beach. Got my coffee, all is well. I got nothing on my agenda today so, I'm free to advise our fearless leader, should he need my expert advice. Ain't had any breakfast yet. A heaping plate of biscuits and sausage gravy would hit the spot. And, kill my diet. Got word apartments in my building are gonna get inspected again next month. We just had an inspection last month. Why can't these a**holes get together and do 'em all at the same time? Because they're government is why, I guess. Well, guess I'll see what I can scare up for breakfast. I miss the days when I still had a car. I would just drive to the nearest Hardee's and get a couple sausage-egg-cheese biscuits and a large coffee and I was good until dinner time. So, be careful out there. Strange things are happening.
Good Morning Everyone. I'm taking the train this morning to spend the week with my "Luvey" and my daughter and since I haven't been there since February I'm looking forward to going today. Rain is predicted for most of the week here and probably at my daughter's too but having some time with them is all the "sunshine" I need. May your joys be many and your sorrows few this week.
Good morning, y'all. Enjoy your trip @Babs Hunt, and safe travels. @Ike Willis I guess I shouldn't mention that i just at breakfast. No biscuits or gravy today, just toast, an egg and one little sausage patty. No coffee either, at least yet. I was too tired, and made a pot of hot water, forgot to add the coffee, so I might make a pot later. I used to always set it up ahead of time with the coffee, but then the coffee would go to waste when my ulcer acted up and I wasn't able to drink it, so now I wait until the morning to add the coffee. My brain forgot that fact today, though. It's been raining off and on all night. We're under some watches and warnings. A funnel cloud was spotted down at one of my favorite places yesterday, San Luis Pass, which is south of here, in Galveston. I'm not going out today, so the rain doesn't bother me, and it gives me the excuse to skip tree lopping for now. It sure feels like a Monday after a wild and woolly weekend, but I skipped the wild and woolly part, just got the fatigue . Hope everyone has a nice day. Stay safe if you're in a severe weather area!
Thanks @Diane Lane. I won't be to far from you so I'm praying we all are protected from bad weather. Last time I took the train we had winds of 60 miles per hour with heavy rains and the train had to slow its speed way down until we passed through that. Even so it was a great train ride and we still made it into Houston ahead of schedule.
Good Morning. It was a really nice train ride yesterday and I met two really nice ladies around my age. We sat in the Solarium car and talked about some things of interest to all of us and traded email addresses before getting off the train. I really enjoy my train trips! Today I will be playing with my Luvey while her Mom and Dad are working, we have so much catching up to do while we put together puzzles, color, blow bubbles, swing, etc. It'so much fun being a kid again with my Luvey! Hope all of you have a fun filled day full of laughter and many memories to cherish.
Good Morning, Y'all. The birds are at the feeder. The cats are in the window watching the birds at the feeder. The trash is out, the mail is in the mailbox to be picked up, and I've got tea, coffee, and banana bread. All is well with the world, at least for a few minutes. The For Rent sign is still down. There's a pile of other things next to the old carpet that was put out, so I guess people must be telling the owner next door they won't rent unless he fixes the place up. Someone is over there with music blasting and talking very loudly...I hope just someone cleaning or fixing the place, not new tenants. I like it quiet. @Babs Hunt I hope you're not in the high water areas. I saw that some places (Highway 6, especially, which just re-opened not long ago from the last floods) are flooded again. It sounds as if you'll be having a nice relaxing day . I'll hopefully be taking a nap later, because I've been up for hours, but at least I was able to get a few things accomplished. Hope everyone's having a nice day!
Good morning everyone! Traffic has been light on the forum, lately, Hope you are doing OK today! don't let life get you down.
Mornin'. Had a great sleep last night. At 9pm I felt like I was too wide awake to ever go to sleep. So, I ate a bowl of cereal and went back to bed about 9:30pm. Next thing I knew, it was almost 2:30am. Made a bathroom run, fell back asleep until 6am. They say not to eat, then go to bed. It's the only way I can sleep well. I always wondered who "they" are? "They" say do this, "they" say don't do that. When you try to pin this mysterious "they" down to a name or a person, you usually come up empty. "They" if you're out there and see this, let me know.
We and They Rudyard Kipling Father and Mother, and Me, Sister and Auntie say All the people like us are We, And every one else is They. And They live over the sea, While We live over the way, But-would you believe it? --They look upon We As only a sort of They! We eat pork and beef With cow-horn-handled knives. They who gobble Their rice off a leaf, Are horrified out of Their lives; While they who live up a tree, And feast on grubs and clay, (Isn't it scandalous? ) look upon We As a simply disgusting They! We shoot birds with a gun. They stick lions with spears. Their full-dress is un-. We dress up to Our ears. They like Their friends for tea. We like Our friends to stay; And, after all that, They look upon We As an utterly ignorant They! We eat kitcheny food. We have doors that latch. They drink milk or blood, Under an open thatch. We have Doctors to fee. They have Wizards to pay. And (impudent heathen!) They look upon We As a quite impossible They! All good people agree, And all good people say, All nice people, like Us, are We And every one else is They: But if you cross over the sea, Instead of over the way, You may end by (think of it!) looking on We As only a sort of They!
Good morning! A rainy morning, here, but promises to grow into a pleasant day. Warm & sunny the rest of the week, if you can believe THEM.
Mornin'. It's a clear, sunny 41 at 6:30am, here in my little apartment overlooking an ally, with a beautiful view of the wall of a building on the other side of the ally. But hey, I'm happy to have a warm, dry place to sleep and enough to eat. I thank God for all I have every day. Today is grocery day. Got a large order in too. Ran out of lots of stuff all at once. Today is national cheese soufflé day. Yes, it is. Look it up. Being a cheese lover, there are some things I won't do to good cheese. Souffle would be one of them. Cheese should be eaten either by itself or several other legitimate ways. In sandwiches or on crackers. My preferred way is on a snack cracker with a slice of salami, slice of onion and maybe a sliced black olive on top. And, a frosty mug of beer to wash it down. Counterfeit cheese (Velveeta, Etc) can be messed with any way you like. JMHO. But, these days, my diet restrictions don't allow cheese, beer, salami and most everything necessary for an enjoyable meal. So, if you go out, be careful. Keep your head up and eyes open. People are walking and driving while texting.
Not much exciting happening here either; but that is probably a good thing. Exciting often means some kind of problem to solve, in my experience; so just a plain old normal day is usually a good thing here. Bobby is (finally) finishing up the last little bit of work on that house on the street behind us (no alleys here), and I am finishing up my morning coffee, and then going to go outside and do some yard work. We have really been enjoying the little ice machine, and with the warmer days, I have been making iced coffee in the blender when it gets hot in the afternoons. The people are supposed to be getting those computer games tonight, and hopefully, the selling of those works out to a little extra cash. It is one of those days when I feel like an extra bit of snoozing might be a worthwhile idea even......
Good Afternoon, Y'all! I should have come and posted Good Morning earlier, since I've been awake since around the same time as @Ike Willis. I had some tea and crackers, but it didn't put me to sleep, although it often does. It's an overcast day here, which is nice, because the AC isn't on as much. Yesterday was super hot, and I was out trimming the ditch out front and the patch of grass (weeds, really) along the driveway. The neighbors are getting married this weekend, and I'm sure they'll have visitors to the house after the ceremony, which is down at our neighborhood beach. I thought I'd do the neighborly thing (even though he doesn't), and trim out front, so it would look better for their guests. Today's a day for reading, resting, and watching television, since my forearms are useless after yesterday's work. Hope everyone's having a nice day!
Mornin'. Looks like we're in for another bright, sunny day here in riverview. Good. We need to dry out and warm up a bit. Been thumbing through my appointment book to see what I can squeeze in today. Look like I have between 12am and midnight open. Didn't sleep too well last night so, I'll fill up some of the blank spaces with a nap later. Watched a pay-per-view movie last night called "Dirty Grandpa" with DiNero. It sucked. A total waste of $5. Today is national piercing day. Really. Would I lie? So, I'm off to get a few holes punched in my head.
