Good Morning, Y'all. It's a gorgeous sunny day out there. There's a slight breeze, and shadows of the leaves on the pecan tree are shimmering on the sheer curtains. My kitty Shannon had her surgery yesterday. It was much more involved than we thought it would be, and she's in some pain, but is doing well, considering what she's been through. My new (to me) kettle arrive the other day, and I'm really enjoying it, although my aim's not the greatest. I was used to the old kettle, which was shorter, and so I overshot the tea cup this morning and splashed boiling water all over the counter. I suppose that means it's sanitized? I'm going to spend some extra time with the kitties today, yesterday was stressful for us all. Have a great day, y'all!
I'm glad to hear your kitty came through the surgery OK Diane Lane. Were you able to get some assistance paying for it? I worry about my cat from time to time..but then he goes back to his normal behavior. I think part of it, is that he is like his mommy, and really doesn't like hot weather. It has been cool the past few days, and he is his normal social self...Give my best to Shannon!
Hi @K E Gordon Yes, thanks, I did get some assistance with the funding, and the fundraiser is still running. Hopefully I'll get additional donations, because the cost increased significantly from what was originally quoted, and I'm already overwhelmed with my own ER and surgery bills. It's the middle of the night and I'm up because I got up to check on her and decided to do one thing on the computer, which of course turned into many things on the computer. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to sleep, but I had to give her some pain medicine and snuggle her for a bit. I know what you mean, I've had cats in the past where sometimes it's hard to tell if there's an issue or not, and as my vet just told me, they're very good at masking pain. Assuming she continues to progress, she should ultimately feel a lot better than she felt before the surgery, and that's what spurs me on. I am looking forward to seeing her out of pain and back to her old self. Good Morning, y'all. It's still dark, and I haven't looked at the forecast, so I'm not sure what this day will hold. I think we're going to be getting some additional storms, but maybe they'll hold off until the weekend. It's Friday, and that's always a plus in my book. I like knowing that there'll be less business type calls and I can relax, although the neighborhood really comes to life on the weekends, with parties and increased traffic to/from the beach. I'm going to watch some TV or read in a bit, I'm winding down my computer activity. I hope y'all have a wonderful day!
Mornin'. A clear and sunny day in the mid 90's is forecast for us here in the corn and bacon state. And I plan on staying right here in my air cooled apartment. Let the young'uns go out in the sun and heat and get all sweaty and dehydrated. One of my sons is planning on fishing this weekend. I wish him luck. I wish I could fish yet. Will someone please hurry and invent a time machine. I'd like to have back about 60 years. That would make it 1956. Yeah, I was 16 then. I'd settle to be 16 again, but in 1956, not 2016. Got my drivers license in 1956. My dad had a 1941 Buick Roadmaster and that's what I learned on. Manual shift, no power anything. He made me practice parallel parking that big ol' Buick until I had it mastered. I could wiggle that car into some tight places with ease. The skill stuck with me all my driving life. Well, enough reminiscing. Gotta check Facebook and see if all my kids are still where they're supposed to be. 1941 Buick Roadmaster.
@Diane Lane[/USER] Glad you kitty was able to get the medical help that was needed and I hope that kitty will have swift healing. It sounds like you could use some healing too...so prayers going up for both you and kitty to feel better. @Ike Willis I miss those fishing days too. Whenever I do I look at this picture: I caught this beauty with my last slice of "turkey bacon" and since this was the last time I got to go fishing...just looking at the what I caught with that slice of turkey bacon brings a smile to my face. And Ike, try to step out of your air conditioning and into the sunshine for at least 15 minutes a day...so you can get your daily quota of vitamin D. Yesterday a powerful rain came out of no where...stayed long enough to knock out my daughter's phone and internet service and then moved on. This morning things are still down so I am glad I brought my Hot Spot and am able to get online with that. Hope everyone has a beautiful and joy filled day.
Good Morning to One and All! I hope you all have a blessed and productive day...Anyway, getting paid today..if you can call it that...lol. Money is always good no matter how little it might be. I have some issues to tackle today. One, I am writing on a site..and they want me to "review their methods" (Joy) Anyway, I have to deal with my phone too, as I was trying to pay the bill yesterday, and they didn't want to accept my pre paid credit card..so anyway..that needs to be dealt with. The weather looks really good for this time of year though...and hopefully I will get a little outside time in.
The forecast says we will be in the 90's for the next week, even though there are intermittant thunderstorms also predicted. That always means we might get some, and we might not get any, so we just never know until it happens. In any case, I am headed outside first thing this morning, and water all of the plants before the heat of the day actually hits. Once it gets hot, I should be all done and ready for that swimming pool ! ! I ordered a waterproof little speaker for out near the pool so we can even have music while we swim if we are so inclined. It was one of the Amazon specials that was originally $50 and on sale for $5.99; and it is even PINK (my favorite color). Yesterday, I swam in the pool until I was cold, and then sunbathed in the ZG lounger until I was warm again; it was a good day ! Bobby is working on the next house that our neighboring landlord has vacated and is getting it ready to rent. The power is off at that house still, so Bobby has to work when it is cool outside, too, at least until the owner get the power turned back on for him, and then he can use the fans and AC to keep the houe cooler. My flowers out front are all getting buds on them; so soon the Rose of Sharon and the swamp mallow should be in bloom, and adding some color to the greenery out in the front yard.
In the 90's today which isn't bad for Fresno. I finally got a decent nights sleep, could have slep longer if Pickles didn't have to go out. I have no idea what I'm going to do today, I'm just happy to be calm. Still not very hungry but I'm forcing myself to eat. Wish I could bottle this loss of appetite and use it when I need it. Anyway, it's been exactly a week since my moms death and I think I can begin the healing process. Hope everyone has a great day and decent weather. I will probably just catch up on here, still don't have the strength to clean.
Mornin'. It's supposed to hit the upper 90's today under partly cloudy skies. It's starting to remind me of the summer of 1988. I was working on a road repair crew in another county. That was one of the hottest, driest summer's on record. It only rained twice that summer in that area. It was the most miserable summer I ever remember. On top of that, I was staying in a small hotel in a nearby town. The manager told me I was using too much water. I took one shower at the end of my work day, WTH? Thank God those days are over. I got no plans for this weekend. I like that. Nothing to do, no place to go. I certainly ain't gonna run in no footrace like those fools in the town upriver from me. Wonder how many will need the stand by ambulances. M-m-m, that coffee tasted good this morning. Last night I scoured out my coffee mug. It had turned from white to dark brown on the inside. Maybe that made the difference. Gonna have to do it more often, I guess. Well, gotta go to Facebook and see how many of my kids survived Friday night.
Good morning, all! @Ike Willis, your posts are always like a breath of fresh air! Glad you are feeling better!
Ike, I well remember the summer of 88, but it was hot and humid in the Alexandria, Virginia area where I was living at the time. I was pregnant, and the AC was broken in my car. I would be wet and sweaty every day, and my back was always sticking to the seat in the car. It was a real joy!! Not! The heat just started to break when he was born...in late August. Up until that time, I think we had a huge string of 100 degree plus days. That is the kind of weather, that drives people mad!
