Mornin'. Cool and cloudy here in Corn and bacon land. My breathing tells me the humidity must be high. Tonight is the official fireworks display, I believe. the unofficial one went on sporadically until midnight last night. So, I was up until after that.
Two of my sons visited me yesterday. I enjoyed seeing them and hearing them tell of their military experiences. Being in the military is one experience that was denied me, and I deeply regret it.
So, today, weather permitting, there is supposed to be an adult soap box derby race, and it will go right past my building. Might be fun to watch.Have a safe and happy 4th, y'all. 13325445_1013805551989451_8644599509784562695_n.jpg

I didn't know that Kevin costner could sing; but here is a very appropriate song for Independence Day, done by Kevin Costner, and called "The Angels Came Down".

I woke up happy today. For the first time in weeks it rained! I layed in bed last night and listened to the soft rolling thunder and watched as the occasional lightening seeped through my curtains. Gone, for awhile, was the oppressive heat and humidity.

Mornin'. Good news. I actually slept 3-4 hours last night. Bad news is, back into the 90's for us'ns here in corn and hog heaven.
Today is the day everyone still having a job has to go back to work. When I worked in a plastic Mfg. plant I hated holidays. Starting up those extruders after a shutdown was a pain in the behind. That's all over now.
Wonder why, every time I went to work at a job I really liked, after a few years, the plant would lay off, then shut down. I got to thinking, maybe I'm a jinx.
The powerball lottery for tomorrow night is an estimated 257 million George Washington's. My X wifey is probably convinced she's gonna win this time. Rose, wherever you are, I really hope you do win. If not you, then one of our offspring. I don't even have a ticket. That should narrow the odds a tiny bit.:)
Well, I gotta get something to eat. Not all that hungry yet but my blood sugar was kinda low.
Behave or be careful, whichever's the easiest.:D

Mother Nature has been good to north Texas again. For the second night in a row, we got rain. What a wonderful thing! We have been so hot and dry for a long time. Rain gives me happy feet.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Thank you for the worm, @Joe Riley , but I'd probably rather have the coffee in @Patsy Faye 's graphic... at least for breakfast. Maybe we can deep-fry that worm a little later in the day? :D

How is everyone today? @Julie Stewart , recovery is going well?

Mornin'. It's 5am, got up, got dressed, got re-dressed, my pants were inside out and I dressed in the dark, took my pills, got my coffee, turned on FOX news, and here I am.
I see Fox is beating up on Hillary and the FBI. So are people on the internet. Good. Now, if we can keep all the illegals from voting, Trump could win.
Enough of the depressing news. What I want to know is, what happens to all the food Rachael Ray makes on her TV show? Did anyone notice the sandwich's she makes? Some of 'em are a foot tall. Who could eat one of those? If you try to mash 'em down, all the gooey crap will squirt out all over you.
Usually, I only see the last 10-15 minutes of her show because our local noon news comes on the same channel. I used to like her, 'til I found out how liberal she is.:(
Lots of rain in our area last night and even now, as I type. I didn't hear it though, with the air and a fan running. Streets are flooded in some areas.
Well, it's now 6am and I'm getting hungry. Not hungry enough to eat one of Rachael Ray's sandwich's though.
    Have a great day, y'all.

Good morning everyone, I got up too early so I'm thinking it's not going to be a great day but have nothing planned anyway.

It just messes up my eating schedule when I have breakfast at 2:30 am.

Good Morning, Y'all. Out dancing sounds like fun, @Kate Ellery, I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm seeing a streak of pink on the horizon, so it's that time of day, time to rise and shine. Or, rise, at least ;). I don't seem to do much shining these days.Hope everyone's having a great day and is feeling at least okay :)!

We got the mowing done yesterday except for a couple of low spots that were still too wet.
    Have a great day everyone,
