@K E Gordon when these things happen I usually blame Odin; but it is most likely caused by Loki the Mischievous one.
    What I call the 'Fates'.:)

    You are right.

No matter how much I talk about 'amp draw' or 'wattage', it will come down to "just get in the car, we're heading to Lowes..."

OH come on Tim, you know you want to...:):p I personally love my smooth surface range tops. I would be sorely disappointed to have one of the old fashioned burner type again, and would replace it as soon as possible! Smooth top, all the way baby!

Here you guys are wanting new smooth top stoves, and I'm dreading that when I sell my cabin, my old 1942 Chamber gas stove will be sold with it. :( I have never used an electric stove! But, I guess that will be a good excuse not to cook. I wonder how many times I'll burn the food before I figure out how to regulate the heat? :D

Possibly the people who buy your house will have their own appliances, and then you can keep your stove, and you should be able to designate with the realtor that the stove does not go with the house, if you want to do that. Then, if the people want it, they would have to make you an offer privately, and you could either accept or decline the offer, as you preferred.
Gas stoves are nice to regulate; but you wlll probably get used to an electric one if you end up with that, too.
Our stove is just a plain old one, but it works, and that is the important part. I also have the Ninja Cooking System, and we make a lot of our food in that, especially in the wintertime when we will cook soups and stews and things like that.
I have even made a cake in the Ninja; so it is pretty versatile. I would not know how to get along without it, for sure.

Good Morning Everybody, yesterday started out so hectic, I am hoping today will be a bit more laid back. Sadly, we are going to have a hot weekend. Well at least today and Saturday will be, by Sunday it should be a bit more seasonable, and the rest of the week is going to be good I think. One thing on tap for today is our local gas station, mini mart, restaurant type thing//(/they do it all in small towns,),,!will be having customer appreciation day with cheap gas and freebies. It is a must do for me! I think I will go early before people start to get home from work. Have a good one!

@K E Gordon , your area sounds just like the place I plan to move to. I can't wait, from 3 million people to 7,500, doesn't that sound like Mayberry. (Old Andy Griffen (?) show). Houston is for the young people now. For me, it has gotten scary. In the last year, I've avoid three of those on purpose insurance accidents. Those people pile as many as they can in a car, and then they cut you off. When they hit your insurance, it's a claim for each person.

I was robbed several times after Michael died, and of course I couldn't afford to loose the stolen equipment. I couldn't use the stuff anymore, but I could have sold everything to pad my saving a little more.

So yes, I'm ready to go somewhere that I can make a few friends, and start a new life. Next week I'm going to see if the senior citizen's center would like to have my old quilting frame. Who knows maybe I can get a quilting group started.

I'm tired of being scared everytime I have to venture out into a city that seems to be just looking to for any oppertunity to take advantage of you.

    I didn't realize I was such a scaredy cat.

Ha that's funny Ina, personally, I can't wait to get out of here. I hope and pray it will happen. Even though it is a beautiful area, and there are good things about living in an enviroment like this, it is not the place for a single person. The social life is really dead, and this community kind of a rural sub division...lake people is not very friendly. I just want to go to a place that has "stuff around" and things to do. Most of the local residents do know each other, but those of us who live out here..just live here for the water, or at least I do.
