Good Afternoon, Y'all. Happy Friday. The sky is rumbling and mostly overcast with big white and dark gray clouds, but there are still patches of blue. I just got home from running errands. I splurged and got a venti chai tea latte at Starbucks (I won a $10 gift card), and I really needed it. Kroger's got a nice combo sale on cheese and eggs, so I popped in there and picked up some of both, as well as the cinnamon bagel I'm munching as I type. Hope everyone's having a great day.

@Diane Lane where you been gal? @Chrissy Page was getting worried. I know we're good enough friends that she'll let me put it all on her. (I am now hiding behind the cough so she can't throw anything at me.). So, you ok?

I would totally LOVE to live in a quiet area and near a lake ! ! When we first moved here, there were places for sale on lots near a lake, and you could own the trailer and rent the lot. They were even pretty cheap, considering that they were by a lake.
Since both Bobby and I are basically hermits, it is fine if there is no social life. It is nice to be close to shopping though; but we could have that and not live in the middle of a large city. Thankfully, not like @Ina I. Wonder has to contend with in Houston, but still a lot larger than we would like.

Even though Fresno is pretty big, I live in my section of Fresno and it seems like it's a city within a 6-8 mile radius and I have everything that I could possibly need. I wouldn't venture into central Fresno even if you gave me $1000!

I don't care about living by a lake because I wouldn't go in it anyway.

Well, yeah, I would feel differently about it if I had a partner. When I moved here, I was married, and ex kept promising me he was going to sell his property up North and come down here to live, but it never happened..big reason we are divorced actually. I didn't get married to sit in a house by myself. Almost everyone who lives here is married. However, that being said, it is a lovely place, I just don't think it is
for me at this point in my life.

Good morning all - still suffering here, no sign yet of cooler air in the near future :(
Must be climate change - another reason to go back to the 60s and 70s :p
Wishing you all a better day Xx

Good morning everyone, still in the 70's.

This morning I'm taking the 17 yr old to take his ACT, for those that don't know that's the college entrance entrance exam. This is the last chance, he's taken it before but will use his best score. I took the SATs, seems those are or were more popular in the East.

Then I'm helping the 12 yr old with a math project...not the math part but the project part.

By then my daughter should be home from her classes in SF. She needs to go shopping etc, poor girl has her in laws from Illinois coming for 2 weeks tomorrow. I will be outta here. :)

That is very brave of you CHrissy. I might be able to help a 12 year old with some kind of prone t but math would not be it. One time I was trying to tutor in ALgebra talk about the blind leading the blind I should have excused myself!

Math has changed. Common core I don't get, even at adding and subtracting, lol.

Even to this day after all the years I've been exposed to it with all the grandsons I don't get it.

I know that one problem takes a page to solve and that somehow all math is integrated and not taught separately like it used to be. Like a yr of algebra, geometry.etc. at least that's what I think
    I'm still not sure.

    Morning All.
Sitting here thinking about how weak willed I am.
I was typing about Scones, Lemon Curd, Yorkshire pudding and got up,
went to the fridge. I ate about 30 minutes before that! I type about food and I must have some:eek:.
Once, reading an intense part of a book about POWs cooking rice and placing an egg on top, I stopped reading
and got out the rice cooker and had the same thing. When it comes to food, I can be lead.
Now to walk off that last slip.:)

Well today so far has started off better than my last two mornings! My internet which has been terribly slow the past few days causing me to think I had a computer problem and tearing my hair out, is now back to normal...PTL! :):) Also, this video projector I have been trying to sell I think is going to be sold today for sure. The lady seems nice and reliable unlike the other people I have been dealing with. So, knock on wood...it is gonna be a good day! Hot today, but cooling...by tommorrow...another good thing!
