Good Morning, Y'all. I think today might be another coffee day, but I haven't got the energy for that right now, so I'm on my second cup of black tea. I planned to take the afternoon easy yesterday, but that didn't happen, so I might do it today, after I knock out a few chores. It looks like it's going to be a fairly rainy weekend, but I think I have what I need for now, so will probably hang out here. I'm enjoying the book I'm reading, and have another waiting in the wings, so an afternoon of reading and relaxing sounds good to me.

I am...but I don't want to go too much into detail about what I do..as it is a bit more involved than the average MS gig..and the company I work for is a little petty so...mum is the word.:):)

Good Morning, I hope everyone has a good day! As for me, to quote a famous poet..Robert Frost, "I have miles to go before I sleep." That might not be the actual quote, but there is a saying in Washington.."close enough for government work. BIg day in the big city..

Mornin'. Kinda wet here in the land of bacon. Light rain. Nothing to get too excited about. I ain't doing nothing outdoors anyway. I got people to mow the lawn and all that.
At some point while I was in high school, we came out of the stone age and got a power mower. I was one happy camper to finally retire that stone age, iron wheeled push mower. The power mower was self propelled. All I had to do was guide it around.
I was introduced to the iron wheeled monster at the age of about 7. My dad was looking at my hands and said he thought they would fit just fine on the handles of our mower. Dad was always trying to make torture sound funny.
The farm lawn was huge to my 7 year old eyes. It took me all day to mow it if I started early enough and took a short lunch break. Tell you what, I was never so happy to see winter come. I still had to help shovel snow, but it didn't snow every week, like the grass grew.
I didn't mind mowing grass after we got the power mower. In time I was mowing lawns all over the place. I didn't like the fussy people much though. The ones who wanted the mowed grass either raked up or caught in a basket attached to the mower. Some wanted the grass around trees, buildings and fences trimmed, and sometimes the sidewalks edged if needed. I hated going to a place thinking I only had to mow, then spending two or more days trimming, edging, washing windows and who knows what all. But, I made some bucks doing that.

I hope it gets cooler for your sake Patsy Faye. I was talking to someone on chat who lives in London, she said it has been so hot that her daughter who just had a baby can not get healing on her Caesar Section. this is just one of the problems with the heat. Well anyway, it doesn't stay hot anywhere forever, unless you live near the equator, so I hope you cool Patsy. It is warm here, but the excessive heat is gone..at least for the time being.

@K E Gordon - YAY Karen, the weather has broken :)
Its cool at last, I am still hot because of my condition but I don't feel as desperate now, I really don't know
how I got through this summer, humidity really is depressing - next year I will do as Chrissy suggests and sling
a wet towel over meself. I've already ordered cotton face masks, I'm gonna soak and slap that on me face as well :p
What a pretty sight I will be  :p

Mornin'. We're having a cool, clear day today, if the weather people deliver on their promise. That's ok with me.
I ain't seen my son for a week. He must have a freezer full of squirrel meat by now.
I fondly remember my days hanging out in the woods. I had an old Ford econoline van then. Had a camp cot in the back. When Friday night came, sometimes I would just drive out to my hunting grounds, park at the edge of the woods, and sleep in the van until it got light enough to see. Then I would quietly sneak into the woods to a grove of oak or hickory trees and sit down and wait. When the sun started coming up, the action began. Saturday night, repeat the same. Wifey wasn't too happy, but what woman is ever happy with everything.o_O
Been looking through some old hunting/fishing catalogs I still have. I long for the old days, when guns were made of steel and wood. They had a feel and heft to them that the new plastic and alloy crap just can't match.
Fishing rods were made of steel or bamboo, reels were all steel and brass with lots of moving parts and knobs. And, you actually had to find the fish yourself, not with some kind of electronic fish finder. Electronic fishing equipment makes fishing about as much fun as buying a fish at the local supermarket.
I can remember when driving a car took all your hands, feet and attention. Not such a bad idea, what with all the texting while you drive BS going on these days.
Just had a brainstorm. Liberals want to sue gun manufacturers when someone is killed or injured with a arms maker's product. If that is such a great idea, then lets sue the cell phone manufacturer when someone is killed or injured because a driver was texting.
Watched a movie called "The good neighbor". It's about some teenage punks who use electronics to harass a neighbor. I give it about a 3 1/2 stars. It was good, just not a 5 star like "The cardboard boxer".
Well, that's about all I got so far. I'm gonna get another coffee and see what's happening on Facebook. Stay deplorable, my friends.o_O
