Well, we got 'bout 66 degrees here in the land of bacon and cornbread. Light rain in the forecast. Gonna be a little dampish. That's better than Hottish and dryish, I guess. Or not.
Dang, only 5am and I'm babbling already. Hey, I'm old and crazy, so there.
I watched a few minutes of the debate last night. Got frustrated by all of Kaine's interruptions. That was disgusting behavior, even for a liberal. I figured FOX would tell me what they said on this morning's news.
So, I got a big grub order coming this morning. Ran out of 'bout everything.
I remember buying grub when I was first married, back in 1960. Twelve bucks would buy more than enough for a week. Rent was forty bucks a month, including utilities, for a two room third floor apartment. I only brought home fifty five bucks a week, but it was more than enough. Had money to eat out or see a movie. Drove a '48 Pontiac that was paid for. Life was good.
Unfortunately, things didn't stay good long. Do they ever?
But today, for me, things are ok. So, I gotta check my lib traps. I'm sure some got sprung last night.
Be safe, stay well, good people.:)

Good Morning. Not sure why I woke so early, no work today.
No real plans. Watching the Weather Channel about Hurricane Matthew
got me thinking its time to fire up the portable generator and check to see everything is 'A-OK'.
Won't be affected by the storm, but it's always good to be prepared. It's the Boy Scout in me.

I awoke to thunder about 2:30 this morning. I got up and turned the coffee on thinking I'd sit and enjoy the storm and I did just that. Problem is the storm only lasted a few minutes and here I am, wide awake with a cup of coffee.

I would hate to wake up at 2:30, assuming I was already asleep that is. Sometimes, I may not go to sleep until about that time. I am usually sleepy before that, but when I look at the clock is is about 2AM or more. I very rarely get up, I just lay in bed until sleep overtakes me, as it inevitably will. Good Morning everyone! I heard of a neat new laundry concept in one of my paid groups I go to this AM, but I am not sure I should discuss it, even though it is not experimental usually they don't want people to talk about things, suffice it to say you will never run out of laundry soap with this device!! Interesting...partnership wtih AMazon. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone, still cool. I'll probably go to the store today since I go almost every other day and I didn't go yesterday. :)

@K E Gordon that sounds interesting but running out of laundry detergent isn't a big problem for me. Either I don't wash that day or I go to the store. I'm curious though. My daughter has lots if laundry but she buys it at Costco...that would last me a year, not so much for her. My DIL has even more laundry with 3 little boys.

    Have a great Wednesday.

I got a new fitness tracker from Amazon , and it arrived yesterday. It is called Jawbone UP24, and it is a little bright pink bracelet that you wear, and it tracks your activity, and also tracks your sleep . It syncs with the Apple Health app, so today, I have to read more about using the health app, and make sure that I have everything connect up right.
For the last year or so, I have been using my little Fitbug Orb, which is just a little gadget that clips on, and then it syncs with the iPhone.
Since I started the ketogenic diet, and am tracking my food each day, I want to see if I can also automatically sync the activity with it automatically. I have an app called carb-tracker that shows calories, carbs, protein, and fiber, as well as exactly which vitamins and minerals are in everything that I am eating. Then it tells me what else I am short of.
We all might think that we are eating a balanced diet, but with this app, you can actually tell if you are or not !
Since we have now entered into cooler fall weather, I expect to be able to do more things outside again that I just couldn't do in the heat of summer.
Today's activities include getting out the weedeater and clearing off some of the grass that grows in between the steps on the pathway from the house to the driveway.

Good Morning, Y'all. The neighbor's dog went after the cats again today, in the driveway. I'm not a happy camper. I yelled at the brother/friend that I don't want the dogs in the driveway or my yards, and that it/they need to be on a leash. Then after about an hour, they brought out the other dog on a leash and promptly let go of the leash. Yep, it ran straight into my driveway. Apparently they don't watch the ID channel. I'm a big believer that the owners are the problem, not the animals. Eventually in those situations, though, when they're not trained properly, the animals become a problem.

Other than that it's been an o.k. day. I'm sleepy and allergies are still inflaming my body. I visited with a neighbor, had some tea, and am drinking Arizona green tea with ginseng, which is a favorite, although I don't have it much. I'll probably use up the last of my epsom salts in a bit for a nice hot bath. Hope y'all are doing o.k.

Thanks @Ina I. Wonder I don't have much family left, and none here. When will you be moving? Are you planning to be in the new place for the holidays?

@Patsy Faye Hope you're having a decent day. I don't know if you have flares during the seasonal changes, but if so, I hope today's not as rough.

Hi @Diane Lane, I doubt I'll be sell this place before spring. I came very close to it a year ago, but my other house sold so quickly. Then there were offers on this one, and all the sudden I got scared when I realized I wasn't ready to let go of what Michael and I had shared for so many years.

Even though I had a three offers I took it off the market. But now I'm ready to let it all go. It is the only way for me to start this different stage of my life. It all made sense to me last year, but it is sometimes hard to make the heart hear the brain. So, although having pneumonia since mid September, I think it will hit the market again by November 1st.

My grandson's willingness to become my roommate admittedly takes away much of my desire to dig a hole and crawl in.

I hear you @Chrissy Page. I managed to hide at last year's holiday season, mainly because no one knew how to deal with me. Seems I can be a bit daunting when I feel pressured, and scary too, I'm told.

But, this last year has shown me who I could count on to be there, and who I can't. It's funny, but the poorest in my family, my step - daughter and her son, are the ones that are ready help find my way in life again.

So I'll do my best to make the holidays joyful for them. I'll try to give my daughter one more holiday season in this old home that she has always brought her family to, so she can feel and say her last goodbye to her father in a sense. Her father will have been gone two years on December 30th.

Mornin'. It's a wet one here in the cornfield. I woke up and thought the clock said 2am, so I got up to pee. Came back and the clock said 5:04am. Now, I know I'm sure i wasn't in there 3 hours. Unless.....I was abducted by aliens. That would explain the time loss.
HOLY MOLY, I WAS ABDUCTED BY ALIENS!
I checked myself over for any signs of an examination by them, but everything seems to be ok. Now, I'll have that mystery in my mind all day.
Anyway, it's wet around here. Showers and such. Warm though. 79 forecast for the high.
What's for breakfast at your house? I'm not hungry yet. Might wait until closer to noon. On the other hand, a plate of fried eggs, hash browns and sausage sounds kinda good.
Well, gonna go check Facebook and see if my family is done fighting there, in front of the whole free world. The dumb asses.
Have a safe day and stay well.:)

Good morning my friends, the weather is still in the 80's here in Houston, and nice and clear. I hope those in the East are prepared for this hurricane that looks like it is going to crawl up their coast. Haiti lost 39 souls at last count. I wonder how that island stays populated with all the hurricane that seem to hit them so often. Those people have been living in poverty conditions so long, it makes you wonder why they stay.

How exciting @Ike Willis, those aliens must have decide your just right since them made no discernible changes so far. Living in the land of bacon, grits, biscuits, and sausage gravy must have been the right combination for you. If you get a peek at them, let us know what to expect if we too are chosen for a visit.

@Patsy Faye it is good to know that you are still facing the world with your cheery courage. Hope your troubles are minor, and go away quickly. Now that the weather is getting ready to send us cooler temperatures, what kinds of things are you raring to get busy at?

Well, the only one I saw close up was butt ugly. Then I realized, I was looking in the bathroom mirror. Clearly, they pulled a fast one on me.
