Good morning !
Just a smile....
A late good morning to you all, we are in Lappeeranta Finland, and the weather is warm and sunny. Lisa is looking around the shops and I have researched a Nepalese restaurant for lunch.
We are only here for 4 hours because the only reason to come is to get Lisa's European visa stamped.
I hope you are all having a good Monday.......
OMG! Where is it?
I woke up this morning so excited that in a couple of days (on Wednesday) I will be leaving for another trip to the beach and to spend time with my sisters in Florida. There will be a big difference in this trip though, as I will be the driver instead of the passenger as I usually am. And it will be the first time I have taken our new car on a trip. This will be my last post for a few days as I pack the things I need and do the things I need to do around our home to make sure my Honey has food and a tidy home when I take off.
Have a blessed week everyone.
Just be careful... ..let us know your back safe and sound
Third cup of coffee now I am awake
I've had 2!
Good morning everyone....110 F today....not much to add to that.
At least you don't live in Phoenix, AZ or Las Vegas, NV where there is an "excessive heat" warning in affect. Bad enough in Fresno, right?
I remember, when I first met my wife, she was making mental plans on moving to Laughlin, NV.. When she talked to me about it, I ask her "do you really know how hot it can get in Laughlin in the summer?". Don't think she did. I was there once in the summer and in the parking lot of a casino it was 115 degrees. She agreed with me that central Colorado would be a much better move.........even with the snow they get there.
I am really not very happy right now. Turning on the TV this morning the weather channel informs me that their is a tropical depression in the Gulf and for the rest of the week and into next we have high rain forecast every day. Then I went online and looked up Pensacola's rain forecast and basically it is the same as ours. I can't drive in the rain with the cataracts I am developing and I sure don't want to spend most of the days indoors because of the rain in Florida either. So now I am chatting with my sisters on FB's private message to see what they think and to probably reschedule our trip.
@Babs Hunt ...so sorry...but better to be safe now so u can go later ...everything happens for a reason.
I definitely believe everything happens for a reason. but I am a little disappointed all the same. Now I'm just praying that neither we here in Louisiana get anymore flooding and no more flooding for all the coastal states that will be affected by this tropical storm or depression.
I have been reading about this incoming storm, too, @Babs Hunt, and it does sound like it could turn nasty. I know you were looking forward to the beach trip; but it seems like this is not the week to try doing this.
The weather map looks like it could hit a lot of the coastal parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, depending on how destructive it gets, and where the storm comes ashore at.
We are having much cooler weather here today, and had thunderstorms coming in overnight. I do not envy you with your 100+ heat, @Chrissy Cross , and I am sure that we will be back to hot and humid soon, too.
We are far enough north not to have to be concerned about the hurricane (should it develop); but we will probably get more stormy weather when it comes ashore.
@Yvonne Smith Yes, I was looking forward to it this week and especially spending time with my sisters who I really miss right now. But I have to use wisdom here too. So I'm still looking forward to my trip, it will just be later on instead of now.
Yes, we are now in Tropical Storm/Depression and Hurricane Season. Right before the season begins is when all of the "Snowbirds" get out of town and head back north. Since living here, we've been thru two Tropical Storms. One was a lot of rain and the other a lot of wind. Been thru one Hurricane that was some 50 miles off of our coast. We stayed in our apartment and everything was fine. Again, lot of rain and wind, but nothing really serious.
Let's see, what would we rather take, the Tropical Storm or outter-bands of a Hurricane in Florida or the t-storms, snow storms and blizzards of where we lived in Colorado? We'd take the snow over the Tropical and Hurricane stuff any day. Tornado's in Colorado pretty much only hit on the eastern plains and we didn't live there.
Good morning !
I have definitely made the right decision in postponing my trip to Florida for now. The Weather man is predicting things should be okay in about 5 days but until that time there is rain, wind, good possibility of flooding and some tornadoes along the Gulf Coast States. I pray it will not be to bad for any of us living in the Coastal States.
Today here in Lafayette we have rain chances all day long. It's a very good day to finish reading the book I started a few days ago and to bake my banana walnut chocolate chip bundt cake with my ripe bananas. And for lunch I am going to have a nice sandwich with my fresh off the vine tomato slices.
Feeling really blessed this morning. Hope all of you feel your blessings this day too.
'Tis the first day of summer, fa la la, la la. Another season went and another steps in to declare.....uh, hey bud....you're getting older. Yup, I have seen 66 summers and going on the 67th so in a positive and mathematical sense, I am batting a thousand.
The ones that are past had their own special times and whether good or bad, I am alive to observe still another.
All in all, it's a good start.
Forgot it was the first day of summer, guess in Fresno you try to forget that since it has felt like summer for awhile now.
Today we will be 110 and it's not totally dry , humidity is 57%. My A/C has been running 24/7 and I'm really dreading my next month's bill. I don't see a cool off yet but hope we at least get back to some double digits.
youve seen one more summer than I have @Bobby Cole.
Again, you have managed to place an oxymoron on my table. I "like" your update but hate it for you to have to worry about the negatives associated with the season.
Too bad we can't all live in low humidity weather like @Frank Sanoica and be able to use a swamp cooler which costs less than a third of conventional A/C.
Okay, @Bobby Cole and @Chrissy Cross, have I lost a day again? Because I just brought my husband to work a little while ago for his Tuesday Grocery truck day. And my Calendar is showing the 1st day of Summer is on Wednesday the 21st. So what am I missing here?
