Well I explored the tunnels @Patsy Faye . Very nice in fact in was underneath a very expensive hotel. I never knew they exisisted. They have built aquariums in there too. So cool and a lovely long walk. Then you come out onto the sea front.

It's ideal as theoretically it belongs to the hotel it won't ever get vandalised.

There is also a forest of plants in there and seats. So peaceful. When we need to get away from the heat and read. Guess where we are heading

    WOW ! !
Maybe it was a pirate's cave, @Honey Gee ? ? I remember reading stories where they brought in guns or gold or whatever, and went into caves on the beach that connected up with someplace else, to bring the treasure out later and sell it.
Or maybe it was just a place where the grand hotel stored all of their fine wines to keep them cool. In any case, finding a secret tunnel sounds so awesome !
Can you go back and take some pictures so we can all see this, too ? Start a thread for it in the travels section, maybe and then no one will miss it.
    So exciting ! !

@Yvonne Smith @Chrissy Cross @Patsy Faye Hi all it certainly seems way back in time some sort of cave system. It's so cold, you could store wine there. The hotel has certainly made good use of if. The graffiti artists would most definately have spoilt it, if open to the public.

I have taken some pics and will upload from my phone later

Good Morning, Y'all. Well, much to my dismay, there are now not one, not two, but three pits next door. I also saw a cat litter jug in the garage. He never had cats (I don't know if there's a door, but if there is, it's always open, so I have a view in from the balcony), and the girlfriend is over there. The house is less than 1,000 square feet, with a tiny backyard. I can't imagine 4 people, plus 3 pits and one or more cats living there. The dogs were going nuts. The girlfriend told them to quit it...very effective as a training method:oops:o_O. Nice that she shut them up, not nice that they're there, untrained, and don't have attention or room to roam around and wear themselves out. I have a feeling there's going to be an issue between them and the ones behind them who just bought the house and have small dogs. The pits are always throwing themselves at that fence...good thing it's the new one, or they'd have broken through already.

So, in other news, the sniveling brats are threatening violence. Shocking. I'm going out in a bit. Thankfully, I'm outside of Houston, where a group was batting around a Trump pinata last night. I'm not sure if the Trump hanging from a noose was here or elsewhere, I forgot to pay attention to the location. Of course we all did that after Obama was elected, right? ;)

It's a beautiful day here. The sun is shining, so I'm glad I put off my errands until today, since it was overcast and damp all day yesterday. I moved the jade cuttings from their lone pot, and put them (and their soil) in with my one remaining mandevilla. It needed more, newer, better soil, so that solved that issue, as well as the one of the squirrel/raccoon or whatever it was that kept clomping into the jade pot and tearing them up.

O.k., breakfast's finished, everyone's fed, and it's time to get productive. Hope everyone has a good day.

Poor Diane, maybe the neighbors behind them can do something especially if the pits are a problem.

Other than that you sound in a good mood!
    Hope it stays

I heard two of those men that survived tell their story and I believe them, not the msm, not hillary, but the men, and the families that lost their loved ones in Benghazi:( Yes, Obama was with her on it. I am still livid over the stupid indecision on the "uniforms". Don't get me started:mad::(

I am 100% against true abuse, but there is, and always will be a big HUGE difference in getting wacked on the bottom enough to sting. There was a huge change and I can't remember when it became popular, about how to raise a child, especially the discipline area. When spanking went away. It's a hard call because a lot of people have abused children and beaten them, that is not discipline. But they threw the baby out with the bathwater, ALL spanking is bad, just my opinion.

Sounds wonderful, and I got to experience a little of that. Best days of my life:) Those memories are precious hey @Ike Willis We played outside, all Summer, we'd turn brown from be in the Sun. We didn't have anything to keep us indoors, we couldn't wait to be done with our chores, which were easy now that I look back, no farm, or ranch, just lived out a ways. My Step-dad at that time was a trucker. And liked country living, so did we.

Your story made a wonderful pic in my mind Ike, and helped me remember those days of building forts, riding bareback through the country-side, and sleeping in a creepy attic, but it was fun. Lots of sleep-overs at our house, spook stories, and yes, we even stold a watermelon or two, lol;)

A volatile subject to be sure. As a psychologist, I must side with the anti spanking view . The majority of mental health professionals now conclude that any physical violence toward children is not beneficial. This is not to say that discipline is not an integral part of any child's development, but that there are better ways
    to implement it.

I respect that view @Sacheen BrightEagle as I don't think I ever claim to be right, but I'm sure I have in some way. I am looking at my experience, but I never had the type of discipline (experience) you are talking about so I can't say.

Fair enough Denise. Most of our generation were spanked, no one thought anything of it. Times change.

I think that most of us were spanked, and sometimes, that was done to extremes, especially with young boys. I remember the neighbor kids talking about "getting the belt" or the dreaded razor strop; but none of them seemed to ever suffer any damage from it.
My mom had one of those little balloon sticks that you got balloons tied to at the carnival, and I remember getting swatted with that, and it did sting, but nothing else.
Mainly, she lectured me, and usually I tried hard to do the right thing and not do anything that my parents would not approve of anyway.
With a small child, it is hard to explain things sometimes, and a quick swat gets the idea across.
When my son was little, he got the idea that when he was mad, he would start banging his head on the floor. He was only crawling , and it was not dangerous; but telling him not to do that didn't help at all.
Finally , when he started the head-banging thing, I would swat his little behind, which was sticking up in the air, and then he didn't like that. Once or twice, and he stopped the head-banging.

This is true, @Sacheen BrightEagle , and I think that spanking or other physical punishment has always been way overdone , and I am glad to see people moving away from any kind of physical abuse. On the other hand, we seem to have a generation of young people now who grew up with NO discipline, and that is part of the reason that we have these childish demonstrations like @Diane Lane and also @Ike Willis was telling us about.
She is right that these children are running rampant, and need some kind of discipline in their life.
What is now likely to happen is they will end up with juvenile criminal records, or even grow up to become criminals; so lack of effective discipline is not a good thing either.
By the way, Sacheen , it is good to see you on the forum again, and I am glad that things are getting better in your life again.
