I've never heard this version @Joe Riley, and I'd never have thought it a song Eric Clapton would do. I've heard some pretty bad renditions by lots of people.

My father chose Irene for my middle name because the song was new in 1951, and guess who popped into that year's in last month. :p

But It might have helped me if he hadn't told my mother that my first name was after his first wife.

Joe, thanks for the video, I watched that show last Christmas 'cos I love Chas and Dave
Now that song takes me back to when I was 3 or 4 years old singing that very song :)

Mornin'. It's a bit chilly out there this AM. Only 36 degrees and rain on the way, they say. I'll believe 'they' when I see that my weather rock is all wet.
Didn't sleep much last night. Was awake pondering. Do any of you ever ponder? 'Ponder' is one of those words I never use but somehow it slipped into my thoughts while half awake last night.
What was I pondering? TV commercials that claim "and the shipping is free". The "shipping" is what I was pondering. Is the item actually being sent by ship? If not, then how? If by truck, they should say "the trucking is free". Or the plane flight is free. Why lie and call it what it isn't? Another lie in those commercials is the word "free". To quote my gramps, " ya don' git nutthin' fer nothin' ".
I'm glad I got all that off my mind. Now I can spend the rest of the day concentrating on more important things. Things like, what post Trump will offer me in his cabinet. I'm not too particular. I would like to stay in the USA though, or maybe Israel or central Europe. Maybe Russia. Or Canada.
Well, I gotta do a few chores, then hang out by the phone the rest of the day so I'm there when Trump calls.
So, be careful out there. Hillary still has hit men out on the job. Don't become a chalk outline.

Hi there Ike - so your Gramps was a Cockney, how bout that :p
I've pondered meself on this shipping lark, as Gramps says, nothing fer free, so the price you paid is a little more
    for that shipping fer free
I like the idea of you being in the cabinet with Trump............. That don't sound quite right does it :p
So stay by that dog and bone - just in case Ike :D

    Morning All
Fog is thick, can't see across the street.
No place to go, so just enjoy it.
Reminds me of the fog hanging over the fields in East Anglia. Miss that.

While stationed at RAF Alconbury, they used Falcons to clear the runway of birds.
When they launched, sure scared the heck out of the ones sitting on the runway!
A bird strike is a serious problem and when you have A-10's and U-2's, this was the best way
to control that as much as possible.

    Good Morning to All !
It is surely FREEZING here this morning ! Bobby got up early and made coffee, and I just woke up. Even burrowed under the blankets I was cold, and the temp said it was 53 in the bedroom.
I hurried out for a hot cup of coffee and put on sweat pants and my warm jacket, now sitting here in my chair , hugging the warm coffee cup, and working on getting warm again. I didn't go out to look, but I am thinking that my little tomato plant out in the back yard didn't make it through last night. Bobby said it was 29 earlier, so not tomato weather.
But, going to warm up to into the 60's later, so I can go outside and putter around in the yard for a while. I miss summer and the swimming pool !

Good Morning Y'all, and Happy Sunday. @Yvonne Smith, hopefully it wasn't that cold for long, and your tomato plant survived. Mine never even took off this year for some unknown reason.

It sounds as if y'all got some nice deals @Chrissy <--tags aren't working for me today. I'm glad you're enjoying your visit. @Ike Willis <--that one worked for some reason, your story made me laugh. I talk to a friend often who lives in an apartment, and we always laugh about his neighbors thinking he's talking to himself, and we also use code and different accents. It amuses us greatly. A friend got a good deal on a Samsung Galaxy S7 at Best Buy right before Black Friday, then kicked herself for not waiting, but sometimes it's just easier to pay a few dollars more and not wait in lines. She got $125 gift card, so still a good deal.

That sounds like a nice celebration @Ina I. Wonder. I've been drinking hot toddies for days and could have used some whiskey/bourbon. Even the virgin ones are finally starting to work, and the crud is beginning to break up, finally!!

I slept a bit later today, thanks to my new bedroom drapes. They're nice quality and very soft. They do darken the room somewhat, but not extremely so, just the perfect amount. I think the cats approve, too. It's the first day of Advent, and I get to open the first door on my Advent calendar and eat a piece of chocolate :). I also got a gift from above. This is the first time I've ever seen a red bellied woodpecker (or any woodpecker) on this particular area, and I think it might have a nest there. I'm excited, because if so, that means I'll be seeing more of it/them. It got spooked and flew across the street to my friend's house, where she has an abundance of bird seed/treats.

Hope everyone has a great day! 20161127_091359_resized_2.jpg
