Not sure. The Robin flew off and the squirrel won't stand in one place long enough to put warm water on its tongue in order unstick it. I pretty much looked the idiot running around after that squirrel with my squirt gun of hot water though.
Ah bless you Bobby - you tried And Joe has put a smile on me face too, great picture and I believe it !
Good morning to you all I woke up feeling sad for no reason, but it has slowly worn off, I made a large lamb casserole for the weekend when I got up, so the rest of the day is more or less free for relaxing and soaking up retirement.... Enjoy your Saturday!!
It's turned out to be a sunny but cold day at -6c (21f) the sun is very low in the sky now so gives photos a warm glow...
Hope you are feeling more chirpy now Terry - you will when you have that casserole @Terry Page Everyone Xx
@Terry Page I hope your casserole will be really great. I was also up early this morning making the gumbo that I was supposed to make yesterday. Since things got hectic yesterday and I couldn't make it, I got up at 4am and started it so we can eat it today. It'a got about another hour to cook and it will be ready. I decided to add shrimp with the chicken and smoked sausage...it's smelling really good right now. Hope all of you have a great Saturday. I'm actually going to do some Christmas shopping today with two of my daughters (another reason why I had to make the gumbo this morning)
Mornin'. We're supposed to get snow here, today and tomorrow. Might not amount to much. Let 'er rip. It's 21 degrees and overcast now, at the wee hour of 6:30am. Was up at 4am, but they must be doing some maintenance because there's no internet connection before about 6am. It's been that way all week. So, nothing to do, no place to go. Maybe I'll ride the elevator to the 11th floor and look out the window at the snow later. No, bad idea Ike. Remember your vertigo. I get nervous just being as tall as I am. Did I ever tell you about the jump I made when I was about 7 years old? It must have been a several hundred foot free fall. When I was about 7, we went to visit a cousin of my mom. They lived in the country in a big old farmhouse. There was a set of outbuildings complete with a large barn. Well, they had a son who was older and bigger than me, and several younger kids. We all wandered into the barn, and big kid says "let's climb up into the loft". The younger kids all scrambled up the wooden ladder nailed to the barn wall. "Well, git goin' ". He says to me. "Naw, I don't wanna". "C'mon, I'll be right behind you. You won't fall". After much prodding, I reluctantly climbed the rickety wood ladder and stepped off onto the loft floor. Big kid walked over to the edge of the loft floor and says, "come over here and look at this". Cautiously, I crept over and peered down at a pile of straw. "That's the only way down. We gotta jump". Big kid said. "I'm going back down the ladder". "Ya can't. You'll fall and break a bone. Everybody falls off that ladder". By then, I was scared s******s. The younger kids ran over to the edge and jumped right off. Big kid shoved me toward the edge and says, "Jump or I'll push ya off". I sat down on the edge. The kids that already jumped were watching and yelling at me to jump. Finally, i felt a push and off I went, out into thin air. Somewhere, at about the 100 foot mark, my bladder let go. By the time I fell the other seemingly several hundred feet, I couldn't stop the flow and thoroughly wet myself. Actually, it was only about a 12 foot drop, but hey, I was a scared 7 year old. So, the younger kids all laughed at me, the big kid laughed and the adults laughed. And I'm still afraid of heights. I don't wet myself no more though. So, stay safe and dry today.
It's cold, but the sun is shining and it will be a good day to get out with my daughters and get that Christmas shopping done. @Terry Page the casserole looks good. My gumbo is finished too and it is just the thing to eat on a cold day like today. @Ike Willis You know at 7 years old if I would have had to jump 12 feet...I'd peed my pants too.
Well it's 9:00am and I have finally woken up properly, I had an odd night, up until 1am then awake at 5am. I did manage several dozes until now...... and had a recurring dream during each doze, where a few groups of people were waiting at an outdoor café for an adjacent cinema to open, the cinema was called the something lamp. After several enquiries from different groups we were allowed in and then after I sat down I finally woke up......so will sadly never know what movie I would have seen... We are venturing out this morning to a local attraction, which is a detailed scale model of the city of St Petersburg in the early 18th century, it took 150 people 2 years to make it, so should be interesting. Have a good Sunday...
