Thanks @Patsy Faye and @Yvonne Smith. I have my eye on an electric fireplace, but there are so many other things I have to do first. Maybe someday :). For now, I have my space heater and central heat, although that (central heat) seems to go out the doors and windows as soon as it heats the room. I put the heavier comforter on the bed, too, and now the kitties barely get off of the bed ;). We might have a light freeze here, so I wrapped the pipes on the North side of the house. I use the other hose year round for the outside kitties, and it's readily accessible, so I only wrap it when necessary. Nicetown is the brand I bought off Amazon, and I recommend them, although they seem a little shorter than expected (although fine for my purposes), so err on the side of longer if you decide to go with them.

Good morning yet another Monday is upon us, Lisa is up early and going to the passport office here to apply for a second one, before the queues get too long later.
I am just waking up in bed. I don't recall any dreams last night, so no more clues to the missed movie the other night.

Have a good start to the week...

Mornin'. Holy gwackamoly, it's cold out there. Only 12 degrees, but factoring in the wind and we have -3. We got more snow over the weekend. Don't know how much but I heard snow plows during the night.
When my parents got married, they rented a house near the railroad tracks that ran by the millwork plant dad worked in. They burned wood in the winter and to cook on. Dad and a guy he worked with would go to an area along the river and cut firewood on summer weekends. By winter they each had a good pile.
It's hard work cutting up trees with axes and hand saws. When I was a young teen, I cut up a downed tree for someone. My payment for this was to be an old rifle he had. I really earned that gun. Wish I still had it. Wish I could still chop wood and all that.
I used to prowl the river bottoms in the winter. Sometimes to hunt, other times just to walk around and shoot.
About 12 miles south of town is a large tract of river bottom land, heavily wooded, with ponds and sloughs scattered throughout it. It's well populated with squirrels, deer and plenty of good duck shooting in season.
When hunting season was over, I liked to while away a weekend just walking around there, taking pot shots at assorted items washed in during spring floods. Things like plastic jugs, old gas cans, etc. I would see these things scattered about through the trees at different distances. Then, I would become one of the Earps, draw my Ruger Blackhawk .357, and gun down the bad guys (cans). It was great practice, until I used up all my ammo. Then, I would spend a day or so with my reloading tools, making more.
Well, gotta go and look for some of those liberals who still can't believe Hillary lost. Get over it libs. Hillary lost because no one likes her, and she dresses weird.:D
Guess I better get dressed too. I look kinda weird sitting here typing in my underwear.

Good morning! Up before the sun today. Will be packing up my Philly's presents/care parcel and sending this huge box speedy mail off to the frozen wilds of Pennsylvania. Among other things, he is getting a genuine Irish

fisherman's knit sweater. I am spoiling him rotten for Christmas, and he insists on doing the same for me. My biggest Christmas present is having him home and once again in good health. What a scare that was! I am over the moon with gratitude. All those prayers from so many people worked. A huge thank you to all concerned.
