Good morning all! I made a pot of Mc Cafe , crisp & complex, Columbian gold, Medium dark roast and had a cup in my Inaugural mug with a piece of carrot cake! It was HUGE!
Good morning to you all when you get here, though it's lunchtime here now at 1:30pm. We are in Alleppy a seaside town for 4 days now, and the homestay we are in is only 50 yards from the sea, so Lisa is in her element swimming as I write this under a fan to keep cool. We have sorted our beer supply for the next few days the owner will get us some on the black market here, which is of course huge now since government prohibition. Evidently the church here put pressure on the government to ban all alcohol, another reason I stay well away from church and religion It has caused many problems with western tourists who are used to having wine and beer with their meals, and everyone involved in the tourist trade is of course very upset by the damage it is doing. We also noticed that no one is smoking here at all, but that is because it's against the law to smoke anywhere outdoors, you can only smoke at home or in your yard/garden. It is of course good for us non smokers, but then what about all the health of the children having to live with their smoking parents?
Been around 'heavy' smokers all me life Terry, I can remember as a baby the smell of cigarettes - loverly Mind you they were 'real' back then, not the chemical junk of today, I think the overwhelming nags about ciggies is way too much and has got very silly. All it needed was measures to protect those 'who don't like' ciggies around them, which I well understand. But it has been criminalised, which is wrong. Drink does 'far more' damage Look at all the kiddies that have now grown up to be in their 90s, surrounded by ciggies they were, nearly everyone smoked Anyway, you enjoy your beers and ignore the funny looks you get
And a "top-o-the-mornin' to ya'll !! Going from near 70 degree temps to a prediction of snow all in one week! The problem with snow here is that we do not have snow shovels, so I believe I have a method developed in which to clear the walks. At the first notice of the white stuff I am going to take the Ipad outside and play a youtube of Trump's inaugural address, which, in theory should throw the snowflakes into a meltdown............ Have a blessed day......
Ooo - I thought it was March 17th for a minute there Anyway you're suggestion should do the trick @Bobby Cole
Good morning, everyone! A light dusting and brisk morning, it is. @Bobby Cole - the trick is to "Be Prepared".
Good morning to you all, it's 7:30 am here and we have so far had the call for prayer from the Muslims and some choir singing sweet music, from I presume the local Catholic church here, now it's the turn of birdsong.. Lisa is swimming this morning then we go shopping for gifts this afternoon..... Have a great Saturday enjoy whatever you are up to..
We went for a walk before breakfast and followed the music we could hear when we woke up, which turned out to be what we suspected , from the local Catholic church, or cathedral as they call it, here are a couple of short videos I took sorry they are a tad shaky.....
Most churches/temples here are very sparkly @Patsy Faye the Indians love that sort of thing, but as it happens it is a special weekend celebrating their patron saint St.Sebastian...I will post more about below...
