I kept thinking that there was something that I have that has lots of silica in it, and I finally remembered what it was............ and it is way CHEAP (especially compared to the price of that silica gel) !
It is called diatomaceous earth, and it is edible, has minerals and it is 90% silica. You can buy it on Amazon, or from several other places online that specialize in it, such as www.wolfcreekranch.net . This website has a lot of great information about DE and all of the things that people use it for.
The main thing to know is that you need to get only "food grade" quality of DE, because they make some that is used for things like swimming pools, and it is not safe to eat.
I have no idea whether it would work for arthritis, or any other pain, or at least I don't remember reading about that; but it is worthwhile to check it out and see.
Here is another website that explains more about diatomaceous earth (this is not actually dirt, by the way, it comes from fossilized diatoms), and will also tell you more about its various uses.
    http://whatissilica.com/diatomaceous-earth-benefits

I have mainly used it to kill bugs or worm the dogs; but I also have used it in smoothies, since the silica is supposed to be so beneficial to our hair, skin and fingernails. I usually get mine through Amazon; but it should be about the same thing, regardless of where you get it from, @Patsy Faye and @Ina I. Wonder .

Good morning friends, I woke at 5:30 this morning a tad early, but have been half dozing since. It's my last day before I fly off to Russia for 3 months, which apart from leaving my family, I am looking forward to, especially some rest........I need to get back into myself after all this work, if that makes sense.....

Have a great Monday the start of a brand new week.....

Bad night, my fault really. I knew my back wasn't right and the bed felt like laying on concrete.
I should have got up and applied the gel to my back, but lay there feeling despondent
Tonight I will add the gel to my back before bed
Have just received the Artrosilium from Ebay, looking at the ingredients, its the same as the Ina picture version
Will try it tonight - hope it works the same .............................

Well I finally done it, while teaching judo I showed a technique and in doing so broke my wrist. Feeling little pain went on with the rest of the class. Thinking it was nothing I did not visit a doctor but three days later I need to take a pain killer to sleep. Next day visiting the hospital found there was a cracked bone which needed a cast. That was two days ago and feeling fine now. Having a little fun with it as everyone has to ask what happened. I just say to them the guy who did this to me is still in the hospital and will probably be there for years. The joke is he works there putting on casts.

Well @Martin Alonzo I hope your cast is on the hand that you do not write with. Yes I know that's selfish, but we can still visit if you can still type. I'm alway popping blood vessels in my hands, and that hurts. But at least I can type one handed if I use my left hand. I'm a totally left sided person, and my bo-bo's tend to show up there.

Sooooo ... stop doing that!!! Let your boys do the judo-ing, and you do the applauding. :p

It's so nice to have a little time today to read some posts and let y'all know that even though I hardly have a moment to myself from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed...I am really enjoying having this time with my grandbabies again. :)

This past Thursday we loaded up my daughter's van and headed back to Louisiana so we could celebrate a grandson's and daughter's birthdays with a Party and Cook Out yesterday. Then around 7pm we loaded up the Van one more time and headed back to Texas. It was almost midnight by the time we got back here and today I feel like a Mac truck ran over me but wouldn't trade all this Family time for anything.

Feeling blessed and hope all of you are too. :)

I am so glad that you are okay and just have been having a really good time, @Babs Hunt ! Both @Ina I. Wonder and I have been worried about you, and hoping it was just that you were having a good time with your family and no time to play on the forum.
That sounds like you have had a long weekend, and a lot of driving, and it is definitely time to catch up on resting.
    Hugs and prayers......

@Yvonne Smith and @Ina I. Wonder thanks so much for thinking about me. Yes, I have been keeping very busy. :) I didn't have to do any of the driving...since the Conductor drove the train and my daughter did all the Van driving. I just was along for the ride. :)

I will be here in Texas until Tuesday, March 28th when I take the train back to Louisiana. Hopefully I will have some time to play on the computer between now and then. But it's different when there was just one grandbaby here...now I have two here and at very different ages. I missed spending time with them though and am very glad to be here. :)
