That first "elephant picture" looks like a polar bear to me, @Terry Page ! I missed the story about the journey you won't be making any more, @Patsy Faye . Where did you go that was that awful ? Oh, car shopping, I am guessing. That truly is no fun. Did you find a better car yet ? Speaking of journeys, I made it to Idaho yesterday, and was totally exhausted by the time i fell asleep last night. We had an early flight so the alarm went off at 230 yesterday morning, and then we spent the day flying or running through an airport until we arrived in Spokane yesterday afternoon. Robin and I had coffee and a muffin at the stopover in Atlanta, and then nothing except the little onboard snacks until we got to Spokane, so we were definitely ready for some real food by then ! It started pouring down rain soon after we arrived; but is looking better today. I enjoyed the trip out here (in spite of no food during the day) and it was wonderful to see my oldest son and his family last night. My younger son is supposed to come up before we go back home, so I can see him, too. The air out here is so much fresher than in the South, with all of the humidity there, and it is good to see fir trees again. We are going to have a good visit, and I am so glad that Robin and I were able to come out here again.
Glad you made it okay @Yvonne Smith ...was thinking about you because I know what air travel can be like! You were lucky, I usually don't have time to stop and eat when I have a connection. I'm usually half running to make my next flight. Enjoy your time with your family and the surroundings.... Now that I got that out of the way....when are you coming back??
We are here for a week, Chrissy. We fly back home early next Thursday morning, so will probably go back to Spokane on Wednesday and stay in a motel close to the airport that night. Tomorrow is the graduation ceremonies, and Laura (my DIL has a full day planned with picnic and BBQ. We plan on going out with the metal detectors one day, and se if we can find an old early 1900's dump site, and look for some antique bottles or whatever. Robin and Tony are both into metal detecting, and it should be fun whether we find any treasures or not. Bobby says the dogs are just sitting my the door waiting for me to come back home; so I guess they and Bobby are all missing me, and I miss them, too; but this is probably the last trip I will make out here, and I wouldn't want to miss it.
It all sounds like loads of fun...enjoy it all! Is Bobby sitting by the door too? . Just kidding, he's probably in his chair.
Chrissy, Bobby IS sitting by the door, too...... of course, that is where his favorite chair is and where he sits all of the time, and watches what goes on in the neighborhood. Pretty sure that he has a better idea of when I am coming back that the puppy dogs do , though. Actually, he is still finishing up that house next door, and then the landlord can find a new renter (and hopefully a nice one) to live there. Bobby will then be working at home setting up the little swimming pool out back. He is planning on making a small deck out the back door so we can get into the pool from there and not have to use that wobbly pool ladder like we did last summer. I will post some pictures once he gets the deck made.
I'm glad you and Robin made if safely over there too @Yvonne Smith and I hope you have a wonderful time with your family and make many memories to treasure. Safe returns to @Bobby Cole and the "fur babies" too next Thursday. My daughter and her family who are moving back here did get the house near us as long as the inspection goes through. We are all looking forward to having them back home once again and even though I know I will be busy helping with the "grandbabies" since I won't have to travel far or not be able to come home every day to my honey and sleep in my own bed every night I am fine with helping out. I will kind of miss the train rides but hopefully the train will be going to Florida in the near future and I can ride it now and then to visit with my sisters over there. It's been a hectic and rainy week but now I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend and I hope all of you have that to look forward to also. Blessings this day to one and all.
My weekend will be a mix of good and bad. Saturday is my oldest grandson in Illinois Birthday, he'll be 11..already sent the gift, just have to FaceTime tomorrow. Then Sunday will be the one year anniversary of my mom's death. I'm sure I'll be crying.
@Chrissy Cross I hope you will feel your Mom's love hugging you on Sunday and many of the good memories y'all shared so you will have some smiles along with those tears.
How lovely for you to get away, but like me, you probably do not like the journey We went to a place that has a very large area of different car dealers. It was to see if we liked the cars we had only seen pictures of. (different makes) I didn't like any of them and couldn't tell them apart but I'm leaving it to Fabs to decide he didn't like any of them either So back to square one and will probably end up with one of the models we're not keen on, to look at anyway. Looks will have to go by the wayside as they just don't make them like they used to, besides that - I'm sick of the word - CAR To top it all - I look like a 'vampire' today, my eye is badly bloodshot from a burst vessel Happened shortly after we got back yesterday and looks a lot worse today Ol pink-eye - that's me @Yvonne Smith
Good morning to you all on a cold gloomy Saturday morning, I am slow getting going but after preparing a chilli been dish for the slow cooker, we are going to Ikea to look at some new bedding for here. The old will be recycled to the Dacha. I will be back later and catch up with some posts here, in the meantime I hope you are having a good weekend...... A few images that touched me...................
Good morning everyone Xx My eye looks so awful, had to wear dark glasses to the laundry, don't want to scare people Elephants .............. I have seen them play football, they love it and they are pretty good at it too Baby, needs to get the hang of it, he's not much bigger than the ball
Just finished baking some large chocolate chip, banana walnut muffins. Now I'm going to go have one of them with my mug of coffee. I hope it's a great Saturday for all of you.
